What kind of update was that? Last week, the big summer Medleyfaire update was released in New World. This brought a new event and was actually supposed to include the coveted dungeon finder and a new expedition.
Actually. Because the dungeon finder, one of the most anticipated features since launch, has been postponed indefinitely. This announcement came shortly after the update went live, while the patch notes on the same day still mentioned that it would be included.
How did Amazon react? They formally apologized for the delay of the dungeon finder but assured players that the release of the new expedition was not affected and that it is still to come. The expedition was announced for a week after the update’s release.
In the night of August 3rd, the developers of New World spoke up, bringing bad news. Just before the update, Amazon announced that the new expedition was also being postponed indefinitely.

Various problems are causing the delay
Why is the expedition not coming? In the forum, community manager Aewyn writes that unfortunately some bugs were noticed during testing, which is why the expedition is delayed. However, Amazon does not specify what these issues are.
However, it could relate to the daily limit for expeditions, which is unfortunately currently plagued by bugs as well. With the last patch, the maximum number of dungeons that can be attempted daily was increased from 15 to 25.
The reason for this is that due to a bug, 3v3 PvP battles are currently consuming your daily dungeon attempts. Amazon is currently looking for a fix, but it won’t be included this week.
What does the patch bring this week? Update 1.6.1, which was supposed to bring the new expedition, focuses entirely on bug fixes. Several bugs that significantly impacted the player experience in recent days will be addressed.

How does the community react? Surprisingly calm. Although the fans had to be told just last week that they won’t be getting a dungeon finder after all, the shock of the delayed expedition doesn’t seem to hit very deep.
The general tone of the users is not surprised and at most a little sad. Many also say that they are glad the expedition was postponed. They would rather play a finished dungeon later than another buggy expedition like the last one. At least in this regard, the people seem to be in agreement on reddit.
