In a series of tweets, Amazon’s MMO New World presented another weapon type: the War Hammer. However, they do not look very different from each other visually, and fans are disappointed.
In Amazon’s MMO New World, as a player you can carry various weapons, train with them, master them and unlock cool abilities. In addition to swords, bows or staffs, there are also massive War Hammers, which New World has now introduced in a series of tweets.
These are the strengths and weaknesses of the War Hammers
These are the strengths of the massive War Hammers: The War Hammers in New World are among the most powerful melee weapons and have a longer range than, for example, swords. Their powerful strikes are excellent for breaking opponents’ blocks, and their wide-reaching attacks hit multiple targets.
These are the weaknesses of the War Hammers: As strong as the War Hammers may be, they also come with disadvantages. Due to their size, they are among the slowest melee weapons in the MMO and must be wielded with both hands. A protective shield cannot be equipped during this time. And especially agile fighters and bow or shotgun users can pose a serious threat to you as a War Hammer wielder.
New World has already introduced three of the War Hammers in their tweets:
- Buccaneer’s War Hammer: Can only be found in Deadman’s Anchor, a dangerous pirate fortress in Cutlass Keys, for groups of level 25. The combination of the “Electrified” and “Lost Bane” effects makes the weapon very strong against the Lost.
- Ancient War Hammer: Obtained from ancient foes. Guarantees at least one perk, and higher-tier versions can have up to 3!
- Residual Hate: Legendary hammer that can be found in the most dangerous corruption breaches in Aeternum. Particularly strong against corrupted enemies.
Even though they bring different properties, all three look almost identical. The same problem has already been encountered with the legendary swords that Amazon introduced a few weeks ago.
Fans are still hoping for more variety
This is what the community says: The special War Hammers are not often found, and it takes a lot of work to acquire the legendary weapons.
Similar to what has already been the case with the swords, comments from fans wishing for the legendary weapons to have a special appearance to distinguish them from afar are accumulating under the tweet.
- One Twitter user antidotcb writes: “Could you please make these hammers unique so that people can actually see the difference between these 3?”
- Jorge Argota raises a valid question that New World has not yet answered: “Why do all your weapons look like color adjustments and not like different skins?”
Whether Amazon will meet the fans’ wishes before the release is unclear. The beta of New World starts on July 23, allowing more players to check out the MMO and provide their feedback to Amazon.
