Amazon has released the new patch 1.0.4 for New World. This includes server downtime/maintenance. The update continues to focus on bug fixes and aims to bring back the Outpost Rush and server transfers, both of which had been disabled.
What are the major changes? In addition to the return of the two disabled contents, there were some bug fixes and minor adjustments. We have collected the most important changes here:
- Multiple glitches regarding invulnerability are said to have been fixed.
- The starting area in Everfall will be disabled to distribute more players across the other starter zones.
- The effect of the Life Staff has been strengthened.
- The limit of faction tokens is increased by 50% at each tier.
- The bug that caused the Ice Pillar to have an infinite cooldown has been fixed.
- An exploit in wars, where players could capture a conquest point without taking damage, is said to have been fixed, but it will continue to be monitored.
When will server transfers and Outpost Rush return?
- Server transfers are expected to be activated today at 11:00 AM German time for US West. If everything goes according to plan, the remaining regions will be opened at 11:00 PM.
- The PvP mode Outpost Rush is expected to be activated at 11:00 AM for the South America region. If all goes well, it will also be unlocked for Europe on October 29 at 4:00 AM.
How long are the servers down? The maintenance started at 7:00 AM and is expected to last until 11:00 AM. We at MeinMMO will keep you updated on any possible extensions. You can find everything about the maintenance on October 28 in New World here.
As usual, we have included the complete patch notes from Amazon below (via NewWord.de).
The complete patch notes for update 1.0.4
General Changes
- The Everfall starting beach has been removed to guide new players through the other 3 locations and increase the likelihood that new players and friends can start together.
- The discount on the first house lowers the purchase price, but not the taxes. However, the user interface indicated that the taxes would also be reduced, and only after players bought the house and the taxes became due did they realize they had to pay them in full. We will compensate all players who purchased a house before the user interface correction with 200 coins.
- Performance in wars has been slightly improved.
- We have slightly improved the effect of the Life Staff by changing the passive abilities “Healing Touch” and “Strike of Ecstasy”.
- In update 1.0.3, we fixed a bug that caused companies to lose income due to the possession of multiple territories or failed war declarations. In this update, we are compensating the lost income.
- The affected companies will receive the coins that they lost due to this bug back into their treasury.
- The refunded income cannot exceed the treasury limit.
- If companies were abandoned, they will not be reimbursed for lost coins.
- We have increased the faction token limit for each faction rank by 50%. This allows players to earn additional tokens even if they have reached the reputation limit and want to save tokens while working up to the next faction rank. These are the new values:
- Rank 1: 7,500 tokens (instead of 5,000)
- Rank 2: 15,000 tokens (instead of 10,000)
- Rank 3: 22,500 tokens (instead of 15,000)
- Rank 4: 37,500 tokens (instead of 25,000)
- Rank 5: 75,000 tokens (instead of 50,000)
General Bug Fixes

- Fixed a bug where the timer for the war lottery was not correctly paused during the lockout period in wars.
- Corrected the rendering distance of the Jack-o’-Lanterns.
- Fixed a bug where the GM chat marker was displayed for players who were not GMs.

Preliminary Bug Fixes
Below you will find preliminary bug fixes and improvements. Our goal is to implement these changes into the game and see if the bugs have been fixed or still persist, so that we can continue to work on them and fix them in a future update.
- War exploit fixed where players could use area effect (AoE) magic effects to capture assemblies without taking damage. This should have been improved by the changes to war performance and Life Staff effect. However, we will continue to monitor this to see if the problem persists.
- We have presumably fixed the issue where players could get stuck after leaving Outpost Rush. This was a rare bug that our team could not reproduce. We will continue to monitor this during the rollout of the update.
