What are these factions? If you want to participate in large battles in New World to conquer territories, you need to join one of the three factions from New World starting at level 10. We asked you which one you would choose.

Marodeurs are the big winners of the faction survey
What did we ask? We wanted to know from you, which faction you will join in New World. You could cast one vote and choose between Marodeurs, the Syndicate, and the Alliance. We also had the option in the survey to vote that you have not made a decision yet.
The results: On September 27 at 1:06 PM, 4,314 people had already participated in the survey. The results are as follows:
- “The Marodeurs” with 1,600 votes ~ 37 % of all votes
- “The Syndicate” with 1,261 votes ~ 29 % of all votes
- “I don’t know yet” with 734 votes ~ 17 % of all votes
- “The Alliance” with 719 votes ~ 17 % of all votes
By the way, you can change your faction every 120 days. So if you’re unsatisfied, you’ll have to wait a bit to join another.

- “Clearly the Alliance. Smallest faction, therefore maybe better cohesion, possibly also better players due to greater challenge. If religions and the belief in God are already highly suspicious to me in reality, then I can at least live out all this nonsense in the game. Burning witches, exorcisms, opening a soup kitchen, stalking the nuns in the monastery – why not; it’s just a game.” writes Theojin.
- “Definitely the Syndicate – I am a rational, knowledge-thirsty researcher and explorer through and through!” writes Damian
- Cem says: “The Marodeurs will be it. Alliance sounds boring like Alliance from WoW! The Syndicate has something, but for a born melee, there’s only one choice! Roguebusiness ftw!”
Factions in New World: Advantages, Bonuses, Differences
What do the factions offer? By choosing a faction, you determine who your allies and who your enemies are in PvP. They offer advantages when your faction or company controls settlements or territories. Companies are groups within the individual factions that you can join as a player.
- The Marodeurs are a military power embodying the law of the strongest and reminiscent of pirates. They aim to establish a free nation, and anyone who is strong and determined can contribute to their own fortune. They place a high value on damage inflicted.
- The Syndicate primarily relies on forbidden knowledge. The members are mysterious and operate in the shadows. Particularly alchemists and mages gather here.
- The Alliance consists of so-called holy warriors fighting for the souls of all living beings. Their motivation comes from the belief in the light of the spark.
Are there advantages for the factions? Not directly. Originally, there was a debate about whether each faction would receive a corresponding bonus. But that is no longer the case. However, the skins at the respective traders differ somewhat so that they fit the respective grouping and story.
All factions are equally good – they offer no advantages or disadvantages. You should choose them more out of conviction.
What happens next? The release of New World is imminent. On September 28 at 08:00, the release of New World will take place. Then the “big race” for the MMO begins.
