On September 28, New World will be released, and at launch, there will be 8 different German servers. We will reveal which one most readers of MeinMMO and also we editors will be playing on.
Why is the choice of server important? In New World, you can only create one character per server cluster. With this one character, you level up, explore the world, and engage in PvP with other players.
But in order to meet the right teammates and possibly opponents, you need to be on the correct server. There are 63 servers available in Europe, of which 8 are specifically designated for German players.
To get a good overview, we prompted you to tell us your favorite server. We will also announce in this article which server the editors of MeinMMO will start on.

Your favorite has been renamed, but many are still undecided
Which server are our readers playing on? On September 23, we launched a survey where we wanted to know from you which server you will be playing New World on. At that time, there were only 5 servers instead of the current 8.
Nevertheless, we want to give you an overview, as over 8,000 readers participated in the survey (as of September 27 at 4:00 PM):
- 2,650 of you voted for the server Elysium, which has since been renamed Learad. That is ~33% of the survey participants.
- 1,879 readers are drawn to the server Utgard, which is also favored by many streamers. About ~23% voted for it.
- 466 of you will play on Albraca. That is ~6%.
- 402 prefer the server Ganzir. That is ~5%
- 343 are drawn to the server Silpium. That is ~4%
- 255 decided on another server. That is ~3%
Notably, 2,036 readers at the time of the survey had no preferred server yet. That’s nearly 25% of the participants.
But maybe we can help you with the decision, as we editors of MeinMMO have chosen a preferred server too.
Which server is MeinMMO playing on? We have chosen the server Ravenal, which initially was not an option. It is expected that the streamer Entenburg will also be playing there, with whom we have already recorded some podcasts together.
We look forward to playing with or against you and battling for fortresses.
Will there be a MeinMMO guild? No. Although many of our editors are extremely excited about New World and will play the MMO intensively, we have decided against a community guild.
Two points spoke against it for us: the moderative effort and the fact that a company in New World is relatively small. With thousands (or millions?!) of readers, it’s difficult to work with a membership of 100.
Nevertheless, it makes sense for us to collaborate with our community to form dungeon groups, experience events in the open world, or exchange ideas better. That is why we publicly share our server with you and have also adjusted our Discord accordingly.
