At launch, Amazon’s new MMORPG New World will offer you 5 servers where German is primarily spoken. We at MeinMMO would like to know: Will you play on a German server, and if so, which one?
How do the servers of New World work? New World relies on classic servers, which you need to choose before character creation. Unlike in The Elder Scrolls Online, you do not have one large megaserver for everyone, but regional realms, each with a limited number of players.
In total, 63 servers are planned for Europe, 5 of them in German. More servers specifically for German players were a major request from the community that Amazon has finally fulfilled.
How many players will be on each server? The number of players per server is limited to 1,000. Therefore, it is important to pay attention to the availability of spots when choosing your server and to check with your friends.
What are the German servers?
These servers are in German: Of the 63 European servers, five are specifically reserved for fans of the German language. The German servers are:
- Albraca
- Elysium
- Ganzir
- Silpium
- Utgard
The majority of communication here should take place in German, and therefore attract players primarily from German-speaking regions such as Germany, Austria, or Switzerland.
Can you choose the servers freely? As long as the servers are not full, you can choose them freely. It is even possible to select servers from other regions, although this is not recommended. The high distance to data centers could result in unpleasant lags and high ping.
