New World brings a new update today, November 24th. This comes with maintenance work. We from MeinMMO will reveal the patch notes and how long the server downtime will last.
What kind of update is this? Today’s patch is a small update that primarily fixes bugs. These bugs include:
- A problem with the ritual quest is being fixed, which prevented players from completing the quest when the interactive heart jewel was used before defeating Alastor.
- The harvest worker set will be brought back into the game and can be dropped by mobs. However, there are issues with the sets that disappeared due to a bug with the latest update. These will be activated again at a later date.
- There are various stability improvements.
Additionally, there will be some coin reimbursements. Companies will receive back their coins if they declared war after the release of patch 1.1. Moreover, companies that own a territory will receive a one-time refund for all stations that have been downgraded since patch 1.1. This money is supposed to be directly paid out with the return of the servers.
Players will also get their money back, namely for paid housing taxes since patch 1.1. However, these coins are not expected to land back in the players’ accounts until the end of the weekend.
How long will the server maintenance last? The patch will be deployed at 8:00 AM our time, marking the beginning of the server downtime.
The maintenance work is expected to last 3 hours. The servers should be back online around 11:00 AM.
New World delivers the second patch in two days
What is currently happening in New World? Due to the large update 1.1, many bugs have crept into the game which are now gradually being fixed by the developers. Among other things, guilds could prevent a declaration of war by changing their name.
Just yesterday, November 23rd, there was an update at 3:00 PM German time. The following changes were made:
- A problem was fixed where the time of a world suddenly jumped to a future date.
- A bug was fixed where some combat situations with many players caused them to appear frozen and their state could not be communicated to users due to excessive bandwidth usage.
- A rare issue was resolved where a server could crash.
Additionally, the developers temporarily reduced the housing taxes by 90% to apologize to players who had restrictions in their housing experience due to item dupes in recent weeks.
Companies that control the respective settlement, however, are still expected to receive 100% of the revenue from housing taxes.
When will the next update come? It is currently unclear whether today’s update is already the “weekly patch”. The bug fixes seem to be too few for that.
Additionally, the developers have indirectly announced the “big December patch”. By this update, the housing taxes are to remain reduced by 90%. However, no date for this update has been disclosed.
However, the developers have provided insight into their general vision for the endgame:
