In New World the new patch 1.2.1 has been deployed today. It fixes several bugs that were introduced with the major Winterfest update last week. We show you the patch notes.
What’s included in the update? Patch 1.2.1 is a very small update and focuses shortly before Christmas solely on bug fixes and addressing an exploit that has now occurred.
With the new winter event, the Trees of Light have been introduced, which allow players to quickly and easily earn coins. Players just need to interact with these trees, which are located in all settlements. However, players exploited this by constantly creating new characters and sending the coins to their main character.
This exploit has now been fixed. Only characters of level 15+ now receive the lockboxes containing the coins.
Additionally, the following bugs have been fixed:
- For some players, the correct Azoth balance was not displayed after traveling. This has now been fixed.
- A problem has been resolved that caused potions to drop under armor values, resulting in inventory restocking issues.
- A problem has been fixed that prevented the town project mission “Weaver needed” for the Winter Gathering from being completed if you attempted to craft in Everfall.
Furthermore, the cooldowns for faction changes have been adjusted. All players can now switch again, and the cooldown will be set to 60 days.
When will the patch be released? The patch was deployed on December 22, 2021, at 8:00 AM. The maintenance work is already over.
Update in January likely brings a new weapon and mutations for dungeons
When will the next patch be released? This is not yet determined. An update next week, even if it is a very small one, seems unlikely due to Christmas. In January, it will likely continue with the weekly updates.
The big patch in January will be particularly interesting. Because it could bring the next major weapon and new difficulty levels for the dungeons:
