New World offers several professions that you can level up to level 200. In this guide, we at MeinMMO would like to explain to you how to level up the Weaponsmith particularly quickly and what special tricks you should pay attention to.
What does the Weaponsmith do? The Weaponsmith primarily creates 5 of the a total of 11 weapons from New World:
- War Axe
- War Hammer
- Sword
- Shield
- Rapier
In the forge, you can also craft the spear and the axe, which belong to the Engineering profession and thus increase the skill there as well.
Besides weapons, the profession of Weaponsmith is also needed for sharpening stones and repair kits.
How to level up the Weaponsmith effectively? Purely crafting weapons will bring you progress, but it’s relatively slow and especially expensive. Effective and fast leveling is not possible this way.
Therefore, the basic rule is: Complete the town quests. You obtain the town quests at the boards in the cities, and for these, you are supposed to craft certain items, such as a bastion armor made from primitive iron.
It’s important that you need the raw materials, i.e., iron ore, fresh wood, and raw leather, but not the processed products like iron ingots or wooden planks.
For crafting these items, you will receive much more experience than for any weapon. At the same time, your character gains good experience when you complete the town quest afterward.
So, if you want to level up quickly and effectively, you need to accept as many town quests as possible.
What should I do if I can’t find town quests? Then you can also rely on sharpening stones besides weapons. They don’t cost ores, but stones, which are much easier to find.
Leveling Weaponsmith – Here’s How
From level 1 to 20: For the first levels, you only have the choice of town quests or iron weapons. The cheapest are rapier, sword, or shield. They consume the least resources. You will need to craft exactly 25 weapons if you want to level up from 1 to 20 this way. This will cost you the following raw materials:
- 175 iron ingots
- 50 building wood
- 25 raw leather
The raw materials will naturally decrease rapidly with each town quest.
Level 20 to 50: Starting from level 20, you can craft the first sharpening stone. If you want to level entirely using sharpening stones, you’ll need 228 of them, requiring the following raw materials:
- 228 stone blocks
- 228 death particles
- 228 fire particles
Alternatively, you can continue to do town quests and craft weapons.
Level 50 to 100: At this level, you have several options. You can keep leveling by sharpening stones, needing 2,396 of them.
Alternatively, at level 70, you unlock the Common Sharpening Stone. With this, you can also level up to level 100. You’ll need about 1,000 of them for levels 70 to 100:
- 1,000 stone bricks
- 1,000 death breath
- 1,000 fire breath
Additionally, you can continue crafting weapons. Count on about 400 steel weapons for that.
From level 50, new town quests are added that offer even better rewards and are still the most lucrative way.
Level 100 to 120: Here, we recommend focusing again on crafting weapons alongside town quests, as sharpening stones now give too few experience points. For these levels, you will need exactly 120 star metal weapons in the form of rapier, sword, or shield. This will cost:
- 1,080 star metal ingots
- 240 building wood
- 120 raw leather
Alternatively, you will need about 3,000 weak sharpening stones to master these levels.
Level 120 to 150: In this range, we recommend a healthy mix of star metal weapons, town quests, the old weak sharpening stones, and the newest item “Strong Sharpening Stone.” These require magnetite bricks, death essence, and fire essence.
Level 150 to 200: At these levels, a healthy mix of orichalcum weapons and town quests is advisable. The old sharpening stone gives too few experience points, and the new one is much too expensive in terms of materials. Alternatively, 38,320 weak sharpening stones work here.
If you only want to level with weapons, you will need exactly 685 orichalcum weapons. This would require the following raw materials:
- 6,850 orichalcum ingots
- 1,370 building wood
- 685 raw leather
Furthermore, from level 185, you can craft useful epic weapons with a fixed name. Here, it may be worthwhile to invest a bit more in raw materials to obtain a weapon that will benefit you further in the game.
