New World is approaching the console launch, which will attract many new adventurers to Aeternum. In this guide, you will learn how to quickly reach the maximum level 65.
How to level up the fastest? If you want to level up quickly in New World, focus primarily on the main quests. They alone provide a lot of experience points on the way to the maximum level. You can only level up to level 65 if you own “Rise of the Angry Earth” or the new Aeternum version. Without the expansion, the maximum level is level 60.
Side quests, town quests, and lore diaries that you can find along the way are also useful. These give experience points just for clicking. Additionally, you should complete at least three faction quests each day. The first three faction quests per day give five times more experience points and gold.
The exact details for all leveling phases and the world events will be explained more thoroughly throughout the guide.
General tips for leveling in New World: In New World, you create a character and complete quests or defeat monsters with it. For this, you earn experience points. You need to collect these to go from level 1 to the maximum level 65.
There are some tricks with which you can earn more experience points:
- Fundamentally, you receive ten percent more XP if you have PvP active.
- In settlements, there is a faction board where you can accept missions. The PvP missions here also provide more experience points.
- When completing faction quests, choose the ones that have the shortest travel distance to save time.
- During your adventures, you will level up various areas. Choose the bonuses for additional XP (if available) or for more reputation to get new bonuses faster.
- Additionally, there is a “Rested” bonus if you have not been online for a long time.
- Always set up a tent from time to time so you can quickly respawn in place if you die.
- Many side quests lead you into areas where campaign quests also take place. If you master such a circle of quests completely, you will efficiently gain a lot of experience points.
- Collect all lore pages you find, as these grant quite a bit of XP the first time.
- Travel on roads whenever possible to receive a 15 percent increase in movement speed.
- Get your mount at level 25, significantly shortening your travel time.

Power-leveling from 1 to 65 – Here’s how
Level 1 to 5: If you want to save a little time right away, you can press escape in the tutorial and select “Skip to New World” in the game menu. This saves you some time, although you will lose a free level for your weapon sword + shield (you can also leave the tutorial after receiving the skill point).
At the beach, it is important that you complete all quests and also take the little quest on the way to the first city. It is also sensible to craft all four tools at first and gather 40 wood, 40 stone, and 16 raw leather. You will need them for a quest in the city.
Aside from this quest, you should avoid gathering raw materials, except for harvesting work. You will need that later at level 30. So be diligent and gather the hemp along the way!
Level 5 to 17: At these levels, you will generally follow the main story until you are able to join a faction.
Level 17: Here you will receive your faction quests, but only in the area of Everfall. There are two ways:
- You can focus on one faction, quickly complete it, and then continue with the main story.
- You can complete the quests of all three factions up to the point where you are supposed to permanently join the faction. Then simply move on to the next faction.
Level 18 to 23: Up to level 23, you can continue following the main quest. After that, you will go into the first expedition “Amrhein Excavation”.
- From level 21, you can also accept the side quest “Towering Tools” (via NewWorldFans) which later in the questline contains a quest for the dungeon.
- In Everfall, there is another side quest starting at level 23 called “Led By Stars” (via NewWorldFans) that will also lead you into the dungeon.
Together with the quest regarding Snoozeimedes that you get directly at the entrance of the instance, you will have four quests for the dungeon, which will earn you quite a bit of experience points. Alternatively, you can skip the expedition quest, which may be useful if you want to level exclusively solo.
Level 23 to 60: From here on out: Complete the main quest and the side quests you encounter along the way. Feel free to take city quests in the towns and think about faction quests.
If you enjoy grouping, you can also grind dungeons. From around level 33 you will gain access to the instance “The Destroyed Obelisk”. At level 43 you can enter the dungeon “Depths”, and from level 53 into the “Dynasty Shipyard”.
Additionally, you are welcome to participate in the world events around the Corrupted portals, as they also provide good experience, provided you find teammates for it.
From level 50, you can also participate in the PvE invasions on fortresses or enter the instanced arenas where you have to fight a boss. However, the quests for this arena are only available from level 57.
Level 60 to 65: You can only continue if you own the expansion “Rise of the Angry Earth”. At level 60, travel to the new area of the expansion, the Elysian Wilds, to achieve the new maximum level through the quests there and obtain an item level of around 640 to 650. This is enough to dive into the first endgame content of the MMORPG.
How long does leveling take? Anyone who is in a good group and knows what to do can reach level 1 to 60 since the level overhaul in about 20 to 25 play hours. After leveling to 65, it will take a few more hours. More tips? All guides, tricks, recommendations, and builds for New World at a glance.
