Today, July 20, New World launches into Closed Beta. We at MeinMMO will accompany this launch with a ticker, where we will inform you about full servers, maintenance, queues, and issues.

Update July 23, 9:00 AM: The servers will be taken offline today, July 23, starting at 10:00 AM. The maintenance is expected to last about 4 hours.
Update 7:30 PM: In the meantime, we are unable to log in properly on any of the servers from Europe. Just before the end of the queue, the process fails every time or we do not even get into the queue at all. Users are also reporting this problem on Reddit.
Update 6:30 PM: The queues have now become very long again, and users are repeatedly reporting that they are being thrown out of the queues. For the server Nav, the wait time is allegedly only 30 minutes, but we have already been in it for over an hour.
Update 6:20 PM: There are now larger discussions about the hardware utilization issue in New World. Users are reporting very high temperatures of CPUs and GPUs.
Update 2:00 PM: The servers are back online, and many players are online in New World. The first servers are showing wait times of several minutes up to 4 hours, including the server Nav that we selected.
Update 12:50 PM: Work is still ongoing on the New World servers in EU and NA:

Update 9:55 AM: Everything has been running smoothly this morning so far. No server issues, no lags, and many players online. Now, maintenance is coming up, let’s see how it looks afterwards. The maintenance is expected to take about 2 hours:
Update 9:01 AM: Maintenance work on New World has been announced for 10:00 AM, so the servers will be shut down.
Update 8:06 AM: Surprisingly, the tutorial has a German voiceover, even though only English voiceover was promised for the beta at first.
Update July 21, 8:04 AM: This morning, only the server Nav has a queue of around 5 minutes. All other servers look good. On Reddit and in the forums, there are already reports from players who have been able to invest a few hours in the beta.
Update 10:15 PM: We ourselves have not had a chance to try New World yet. We will keep you updated tomorrow morning.
Update 9:50 PM: All servers are currently offline for maintenance.
Update 9:00 PM: As the developers stated on Twitter, they are still working on the servers:
Update 8:30 PM: I haven’t really made any progress in the queue. On the now third server, I’ve been waiting for 30 minutes.
However, we brought the success on Steam in a separate news: New MMORPG New World launches with over 180,000 players on Steam directly in 3rd place.
Update 7:57 PM: Players are repeatedly reporting that the queue goes to 0 and they then receive an error message. So even the end of the queue is no guarantee for login.
Update 7:42 PM: The maintenance does not seem to affect every server.
Update 7:40 PM: There are maintenance works. As a result, I and many other players were thrown out of the queue.

Update 6:38 PM: Players are reporting queues between 2 and 7 hours wait time. All servers seem to be overcrowded at the moment.
Update 6:31 PM: By the way, New World is currently a top seller on Steam (via Steam).

When does the beta start? The beta starts today at 6:30 PM. However, to participate in the beta, you will need a special key. This will be provided to pre-order customers and players who register on the official website. What is New World? New World is a sandbox MMO. You arrive at the mysterious island of Aeternum, where Azoth, a mystical material, is located.
On the island, you will encounter wild beasts, the hostile NPC faction Corrupted, which has come into contact with Azoth, as well as hostile players that you can fight in optional PvP.
New World offers:
