The MMORPG New World developed by Amazon Games has merged several servers again over the Easter weekend. Among them are servers where a large number of German-speaking players are active. MeinMMO shows you which servers were merged and where the most players are now.
Why is New World merging servers? At the release of the MMORPG, so many players played New World that the servers were full and players waited in queues. Amazon Games had to open additional servers.
However, the player count gradually decreased over time. As a result, many servers became quite empty, and players found it difficult to find groups. In order to have fuller servers again and for “New World” players to find teammates more easily or to engage in PvP battles, Amazon Games is merging servers.
As a result, New World has, for example, merged three less visited servers into one full one. Players mainly notice the merging by the resulting increase in player populations on Aeternum.
Amazon Games merges numerous servers
Which servers did New World merge? In Central Europe, Amazon Games recently merged the following servers:
- Asgard, Hades, Hellheim, Fae, and Caer Sidi are now part of Abaton
- Styx, Antillia, Utgard, and Learad merged with Aaru
- Lyonesse and Nysa were merged
- Bifrost, Niflheim, Bengodi, and Kor were merged with Tir Na Nog
- Arcturus will become part of Tartarus
How many players are on which servers? The servers Aaru and Evonium are currently among the most popular servers for German players. Especially on Aaru, the global chat seems to be dominated by German players.
With the recent influx from the recent server merge, Aaru and Evonium reached up to 1,600 concurrent players during peak times over the Easter weekend (via nwdb.info). The streets were crowded, and even the faction wars were running at full speed.
The battle for resources has begun
What are the advantages and disadvantages? If you previously had trouble finding teammates or assistance with quests, that should change now. During peak times between 8 PM and 11 PM, partner requests and company recruitments are regularly seen.
PvP players should also be pleased. The faction wars for the individual territories are back in full swing and enjoy high participation.
Less pleasing for players wanting to farm certain materials may be that some spots are either harvested out or the next player is already waiting for the respawn of the coveted resource (u/JormLokison via Reddit).
April has so far been an eventful month for “New World” players. In addition to the Easter event and the recent server mergers, the largest content update for the MMORPG, “Heart of the Madness,” was also released at the end of March.
How do you assess the game at this point? Did the big update and the server merge bring fresh wind to your gameplay, or does Amazon Games need to continue improving in your opinion?
