Amazon is hosting a limited-time stress test for the MMO New World. We will let you know who can participate in the article.
What kind of test is this? Amazon refers to it as the “Density Test”. Essentially, it is a regular stress test. The goal is to allow as many players as possible onto the servers to test their stability under stressful conditions.

Who can participate? The developers invite everyone who was already part of the Alpha and did not cause any issues. However, the “New World” creators do not clarify what this means exactly.
Additionally, all those who pre-ordered New World through Amazon or Steam before July 26 are included.
Also, some players will receive an invitation who signed up for the beta before July 9. Amazon will make a random selection from these players.
This is how you will be informed: If you pre-ordered the MMO New World through Steam, you need to check the “Steam Feed” or the community page of the game for details on the test. You will not receive an email indicating whether you are eligible to participate in the stress test.
If you pre-ordered New World directly through Amazon, you will receive an email with the Steam key and details.
If you have already participated in the Alpha, you will also receive an email informing you about the participation in the “Density Test”.
If you have signed up for the beta and are selected for the stress test, your participation will be confirmed via an email which will also include a Steam key.
Can players report on the stress test? No, the test is under an NDA. Only later in the further testing phases should the NDA be lifted.
When exactly does the test start? The “Density Test” of the MMO New World begins on July 30 at 11 PM. The invitations should now be sent out gradually.
By the way, the game will be played on the US server North America/IAD/us-east1.
How long will the test last? Three days are currently planned, during which you should achieve different goals in the MMO for testing purposes.
- July 30 – You must complete the tutorial and reach a settlement
- July 31 / August 1 – Complete missions to reach at least level 10. Join one of the factions.
- August 1 / August 2 – Try to reach level 20 through quests.
Originally, it was planned to open the server only at certain times on the respective days – mainly in the middle of the night our time. However, since this was not very convenient for European players (August 1, 3 AM to 6 AM and August 1, 10 PM to 1 AM on August 2), it will now remain open continuously.
Whether the stress test will last even longer beyond this is currently still unknown.
