In New World there are 3 factions fighting for control of the island. Each of them has their own faction shop where you can spend your faction tokens. In this article, we will show you why it is worth collecting the tokens and especially where you can get them the fastest.
Which factions are present in the game? At the moment (as of October 20, 2021), there are 3 factions that you can join. Each faction has its own representative color.

Why are the tokens so important? Each faction has a shop where you can exchange your faction tokens for powerful equipment or materials. At level 60, you have full access to important things:
- Holding Rune
- With these runes, you can craft bags or storage chests. As you progress through the game, you will need more and more storage space, which is why these runes are also in demand later in the game.
- Chisel
- Every dungeon requires a key, and to craft it, you need the corresponding chisel from the faction vendor.
- Equipment + Weapons
- Especially the level 60 equipment costs a fortune in faction tokens, but they are very powerful. Until you gear up completely with legendary weapons and armor, you can wear these without worries.
How can I collect faction tokens? To collect tokens, you must complete faction missions. In each town, there is a representative from the 3 factions where you can take on a variety of missions. However, there are these 2 types:
- PvE missions – Safe but slow
- Missions scattered throughout the area.
- Advantage: You are undisturbed and safe while traveling. Even if you become incapacitated, you do not lose any progress.
- Disadvantage: Fewer tokens. You may lose a lot of time as you have to run across the map to the mission location.
- PvP missions – High Risk High Reward
- Always the same missions. The 2 missions “Demonstration of Power” and “Infiltration” are almost identical for every faction, except for minor differences. “Sabotage” differs completely – in one faction, for example, you have to chop wood, in the other, hunt pigs. However, the effort is not particularly large.
- Advantage: A ton of tokens in a short amount of time + always the same missions, so you know the locations by heart.
- Disadvantage: Potential danger of encountering players from other factions who may hinder your progress. If you become incapacitated (even by monsters), you lose all progress and have to start over.
Fast token collection with PvP in these areas

Tips & Tricks before you start. PvP missions give you a lot of tokens in a short amount of time, but also bring dangers. So before you set off, we give you some hints to increase your chances of survival.
- Find a group – The more, the better, because together you are stronger
- Take mobility weapons like fire staff or war axe, because sometimes running away is a good option
- Pack potions and food so you can use them in emergencies.
- If you’re not looking for a fight, hide behind bushes, so you won’t be seen and can wait until the danger has passed.
In these locations, you can get the most faction tokens per minute: I ran around all day in all areas, spammed faction missions, and measured the time.
- Brackwater – 610 faction tokens per minute
- Duration ~ 9 min = 5510 faction tokens
- Advantage: The best area in terms of price-performance ratio.
- Disadvantage: The monsters/animals you need to kill there are level 62+ and can especially give players under level 60 a hard time.
- Ebenmaß – 486 faction tokens per minute
- Duration ~ 9 min = 4377 faction tokens
- Advantage: Although not as profitable as Brackwater, the paths are more manageable, so you don’t have to stay completely active and focused to get to the mission area. A bit more comfortable.
- Disadvantage: The monsters can also be very nasty here. For players under level 58 – don’t overestimate yourselves.
- Deep Gorge (Outpost East Brand) – 406 faction tokens per minute
- Duration ~ 4.5 min = 2103 faction tokens
- Advantage: Extremely short path to the mission area. Quickly complete the missions
- Disadvantage: Provides fewer faction tokens compared to other areas. Also, the faction missions have a 5-minute cooldown, which slows you down a bit.
- Unstable Coast – 391 faction tokens per minute
- Duration ~10 minutes = 3911 tokens
- Advantage: One of the most pleasant places to collect tokens. 95% of the time, you just run around, and there are virtually no obstacles. Often, I do other things while spamming PvP missions here.
- Disadvantage: Unfortunately, the time-value ratio is not as good as the previous options.
- Break Mountain – 502 faction tokens per minute (bugged)
- At the moment (as of October 22, 2021), unfortunately, bugged – as soon as this is fixed, we will update this article.
Collect even more faction tokens with area reputation. In the area where you often collect tokens, you can choose the area buff for more faction tokens. This provides an additional bonus.
