In the new area Brimstone Sands, you can find 26 Glyphs that open portals or grant access to special chests. We at MeinMMO reveal where you can find these Glyphs in New World.
How do you get the Glyphs? It varies. Most Glyphs can be found alone and some of them you must even use in the main quest. However, three Glyphs can only be completed in a group.
In the game, you can track exactly which Glyphs you have already found in the collections. We have adopted the counting method from the game on our map. In addition, we have marked the Glyphs by color:
- Red Glyphs are part of main or side quests
- Green Glyphs can be found easily
- Yellow Glyphs can only be obtained as a group
Tips for Finding the Glyphs in Brimstone Sands
Where are the Glyphs hidden? Glyphs are generally found in walls, mostly in pillars. For some Glyphs, you need to jump down cliffs or enter buildings. You can interact with them by pressing the “E” key to activate them.
Where are the Boss Glyphs located? The Glyph 17 is located in the new dungeon Ennead. The two other Glyphs are part of boss arenas that you can only enter as a group.
Why should I even search for the Glyphs? With the help of the Glyphs, you unlock new features on the map. For example, you can activate portals that shorten your travel routes. You learn this during the main story around the wall in the northeast.
Additionally, you can open certain elite chests that you wouldn’t have accessed otherwise.
For all of this, it is sufficient that you activate the Glyph once.

Where can I see the activated Glyphs? Simply open “J” and go to the “Documents” tab. Under “Stories from the Sulfur Sand Desert”, you will find the chapter “All Glyphs”. There, all 26 are listed.
