For crafting in New World, you need various materials. One of the crafting materials is saltpeter, which is not so easy to find. We at MeinMMO will tell you where to get saltpeter in New World.
What is saltpeter used for? If you landed on this guide, you have probably tried to craft ammunition for the musket. Because that’s exactly what you need saltpeter for early on. However, there are also some other crafting recipes that contain this resource. Learn more about crafting in New World here.
Where can you find saltpeter? You can mainly find the material on the floors of caves or in nests of creatures. It is not easy to recognize because it looks very similar to the ground. Only the white spots stand out a bit. However, you can mine it as usual if you are close enough to it.
In Everfall and Windsward, you hardly find any saltpeter, but there are some sources in the King’s Cradle and in higher areas like Brightwood and Restless Shore.
A good overview of the resources is generally provided by the map in the game. There you can see where various raw materials are located and also recognize based on the terrain of the map what kind of landscape you are in. However, this does not apply to every material. Saltpeter, for example, is not displayed.
Helpful in the search for saltpeter is this interactive map from players (via neworldfans.com), which clearly shows where you can find fibers, oil, saltpeter, and other raw materials.
