The new MMORPG New World comes from Amazon, which also owns the streaming provider Twitch. Logically, Amazon connects both and allows you to obtain special items without playing the game. Simply by watching others.
What are Twitch Drops? Twitch Drops are not something that New World invented. The cool extra content has been available on Twitch for several years. The shooter Valorant, for example, distributed a large portion of its beta access through Twitch Drops.
The concept behind it is quite simple: You link your respective account, such as your Steam or Riot account, with your Twitch account. Then you watch streamers who show the game of your choice and have activated the Twitch Drops.
Then you receive free items, skins, or other bonuses, even though you are not playing and just watching others. The items available for this change every month.
How does it work with New World? You just need to register on the New World website for this. Simply follow these steps:
- Open the New World website
- Scroll down a bit and click on the purple button “Sign in with Twitch”
- Once done, you will land back on the page and now see your Twitch name in the field
- Then click on the blue button “Sign in with Steam”
- Once done, your Steam name will appear in the next field
- Now click on “Activate”
- You will then receive a confirmation that the Drops are activated
How do you get the Drops? If you watch a streamer playing New World and who has activated the Twitch Drops, you will receive exclusive items directly in your New World mailbox after a certain time.
The items you can get through the drops change every month, however.
Twitch Drops in November
What are you currently receiving? Currently, you are receiving the armor skin “The Royal Fisher” through the Twitch Drops in New World. The skin package is available from November 18 at 6:00 PM until December 1 at 9:00 AM.
You will receive the fisher costume if you watch a streamer with activated Twitch Drops for an hour.
What has already been available? So far, you could unlock exclusive vine weapon skins through the Twitch Drops, with a total of 14 available to earn through the Twitch Drops.
You could also have received the “Green Trapper” clothing skin and the “Golden Wrath” clothing skin through the Twitch Drops before the release.
These skins are now no longer available. Whether they will return is currently unknown.
