In New World, the Halloween event 2024 will start soon. In this guide, we will tell you everything about the content, quests, and rewards related to Halloween.
When does the event take place? The Night Veil period starts on October 22, 2024, and is supposed to last until November 5, 2024.
What is included in the event? The core of the event is a world boss that you should defeat with 10 or more players. Additionally, there are tokens and rewards available again.
Baalphazu and his quest
How do I start the event? You must first enter one of the settlements in New World that can also be captured by players. An NPC is waiting for you next to a large witch’s cauldron there. This NPC has both the event quest “Baalphazus Fall” and the event shop where you can obtain the rewards.
What do I need to do for the quest? You need to defeat Baalphazus. He is a world boss with just over 23 million health. Therefore, you should attack him in a group.
The boss can be located in the following six areas:
- Even Measure
- Eden Plain
- Wailing Valley
- Lightwood
- Deep Gorge
- Weber Marsh
It is worth defeating the boss about three to five times a day (the reset is always at 5:00 AM). During the first three kills, you have a chance for a rare costume, and for the first five, the chance for a piece of armor. In addition, you will receive a secret from Baalphazu, which you can exchange in the towns at the cauldron for a chest containing diamond plaster, coins, and Night Veil tokens.
What should you watch out for with the boss? It is important to break the boss’s stamina bar. You need to defeat the pumpkin creatures around him. They will drop a head that you can throw at the boss.
The boss also has a pull ability to draw everyone in the vicinity to him. The ground will briefly turn green beforehand.
Additionally, he spawns green rings that you should either dodge or block. These spawn outside and move inward toward him.
The Costumes and Treat Baskets
What about the costumes? The four costumes for Captain Thorpe, Adiana, Anubis Marauder, and Lost Monarch can be obtained as drops for defeating Baalphazu. If you have such a costume, you can wear it (it will occupy the slot for buff food and potions when used) and find new treat baskets.
These are located in the towns and contain the following rewards:
- Baalphazu armor pieces (10% drop chance)
- 2 Night Veil tokens (3 times daily)
- Sweets – consisting of four different buff foods

How do you get the tokens and ranks? The Halloween event has three tiers of rewards. You achieve the second and third tier once you have defeated Baalphazus once. The tokens are earned as a reward for re-killing the boss.
What rewards are there? At Rank 1, you will receive schematics for special Halloween skins as well as a basket of treats. This is a furniture item:
At Rank 2 you can earn other schematics, this time with a guaranteed item at armor value 675 and thus legendary. Additionally, there is a new emote and armor skins.
