In New World, the battle between the 3 factions plays an important role. Individual guilds can conquer settlements and defend them against attackers. However, one guild went wrong. A great drama then ensued.
On the server Heracleion, a great drama occurred within the faction “The Syndicate”:
- The guild leader of a company allegedly led his guild to a defeat in war and then stole from them.
- The action is said to have cost the company 60,000 gold. Additionally, they are now without a leader.
- But the entire Syndicate has also suffered due to the action. The faction is clearly outmatched on the server, and the gold that was stolen went directly to their rival, the Marauders.
“He robbed us of all the fun in the game in 2 hours.”
What exactly happened on Heracleion? A company from the Syndicate faction lost a battle for their previously purchased settlement. According to reddit user Paradoggs, this was mainly due to poor organization within the company.
Afterward, the company tried to purchase the last free settlement in Reekwater, but it failed due to the donated money.
The guild leader then became angry and called on all players to put money into the guild bank. 60,000 gold was gathered from 200 players. But then he betrayed his fellow players.
He stole the gold from the bank and used a friend to take the gold to the enemy faction of the Marauders. He then deleted his character and started anew on the side of the Marauders, who were already dominating the server.
Can he do this without punishment? It will now be seen. The player has allegedly been reported by several company members. Paradoggs emphasized that the guild leader robbed everyone in the guild of fun in just 2 hours.
In principle, however, intriguing and cheating is a mechanic that Amazon is expected to endorse. However, it should mainly be about getting rid of an unwanted company from one’s own faction to take over the settlement. There was never any talk of stealing gold from the guild bank.
On reddit, some players see this action as a “real pirate” or feel reminded of EVE Online. Others find the action “childish” or “just stupid”.
What do you think about the player’s action? Is the fraud still within the bounds of intrigue within a game world, or should such theft be punished?
