Gold plays an important role in New World . You use it to pay for your houses and taxes, buy items from the auction house, and pay your crafting fees. But how do you actually earn the coins quickly in the new MMO? We at MeinMMO reveal it to you in our “Gold farming” guide to New World.
How do you earn gold in New World? Basically, you earn gold for almost all activities:
- Quests
- City projects
- Loot from monsters
- Dismantling items
- Selling items or crafting materials to other players
However, there are also some tricks to earn coins particularly quickly. We want to present you with 4 of these tips in this guide.
Trick 1: Earn money through faction missions
What kind of method is this? The faction missions offer two interesting methods to reward you with gold:
- On the one hand, you will receive bonus coins for the first 3 missions of the day, which makes the missions interesting in the endgame. Here, up to 700 coins are possible.
- On the other hand, you will receive faction tokens. With these faction tokens, you can buy the Rune of Holding, which is worth it, at least on the Fresh Start servers.
The rune comes in various levels and for a different number of tokens. However, they all fetch a lot of money at the trading post, as the rune is needed to create new bags. And every player needs more bag space, as we all know.
How much can one earn? Basically, the small Rune of Holding costs you 1,000 tokens (about 3 to 4 missions) and 250 coins. The price at the trading post varies depending on the server and settlement. Currently, the rune brings between 280 and 350 coins, thereby significantly exceeding its costs.
With higher reputation levels in your faction, there are higher runes of holding available. These will yield more money.
Depending on the server, you should also check whether it is worth selling the rune directly or first crafting a bag and then offering it at the trading post.
Trick 2: Complete side quests
What kind of method is this? It sounds very trivial, but complete all side quests in the game. Unlike city quests and faction missions, they reward you with a decent amount of gold.
How much can one earn? That completely depends on the quest. However, even low-level side quests usually reward between 100 and 300 coins. Those who are quick can thus earn a lot of coins.
However, many quests can only be completed once, which somewhat reduces your income in the endgame. But then there are the endgame contents. There are, however, especially in the expeditions, repeatable quests that can be worthwhile for farming – with the right group.
Trick 3: Participate in Outpost Rush, Wars, and Invasions
What kind of method is this? In this method, you participate in the endgame contents Outpost Rush (Level 60), invasions (Level 60), and wars (here you need luck to be taken along). These contents reward you with many coins, even if you lose.
How much can one earn? That depends on the respective mode:
- In Outpost Rush, you earn gold depending on victory or defeat, as well as your personal ranking on the leaderboard. Even with a defeat, you can come to 200 to 350 coins for a round, while the maximum for a victory is in the range of 300 to 500 coins.
- In wars, you earn up to 720 coins if you are level 60, and as a loser around 400 coins.
- In invasions, you receive 720 as a winner. In case of a defeat, there are 480 coins.
Additionally, there is a PvP reward track that regularly brings bags of around 500 to 800 coins. You also collect progress for this through Outpost Rush and wars.
Trick 4: Farm materials and upgrade if necessary
What kind of method is this? In New World, there are two methods to earn money through crafting:
- You can gather materials and then sell them. Due to the special crafting system, even low-level materials are always relevant.
- In the endgame, there are materials that you can only craft a certain amount of per day.
Lucrative endgame items include Runestones, Asmodeum, Glittering Ebony, Phoenix Weave, and Rune Leather. However, you need the corresponding professions at level 200 for this.
How much can one earn? That depends on the respective server. All materials can be sold for more than the individual components. People pay for not having to wait days.
Trick 5: Trade in the right trading post
What kind of method is this? Whether you sell materials or buy expensive items cheaply and then sell them at a higher price – known as flipping – it is important that you trade in the right settlement.
Because each town has different trading taxes:
- On the one hand, you can lower costs by increasing your reputation in the area and choosing the bonus to reduce taxes.
- On the other hand, the company sets taxes that control the respective settlement.
How much can one save? That varies greatly and depends on the respective servers and of course the owners of the settlement.
If you look at the taxes, you can save between 1% and 10% of the value of your sold goods. Those who want to earn their gold through trading should definitely keep an eye on all settlements.
Tip 6: Farm trophy components
What kind of method is this? In this method, you try to collect rare components for endgame trophies in housing.
You mainly get these from chests in Brackwater or Weaver’s Fen. You just need to find and open these. The chance for rare items can be increased, by wearing equipment with luck as a stat.
How much can one earn? This again depends on the servers. However, there are rare items that are worth hundreds to thousands of coins, such as loaded dice.
