The shop of New World was unknown for a long time. However, there were discussions beforehand about XP boosters and possible advantages for players who spend money. We at MeinMMO take a closer look at the shop at release.
What’s in the shop? New World is a Buy2Play MMO and, in addition to the purchase price, relies on a shop where real money can be spent. However, this shop is rather unremarkable and offers no nasty surprises. You can currently purchase the following items there:
- New emotes
- Various skins for armor and weapons
- Furniture for housing
- New crests for your company
- New dyes
In most areas, however, the selection is rather small. For instance, there are only 3 different colors, 3 emotes, and only one skin per weapon type.
Is there Pay2Win? No, none of these shop items give you an advantage in the game. Also, exchanging real money for in-game currency is not possible.
The shop is supposed to remain this way at least until 2022. However, Amazon is considering bringing boosters to help new players catch up to veterans faster.
Overall, the shop of New World currently gives a fair impression, especially regarding prices.

How much do the various items cost? Those who want to buy an item in New World must first obtain so-called luck tokens. 1,000 luck tokens cost about 80 cents in the cheapest package and about 70 cents in the most expensive package due to bonus tokens.
For our calculations, we have always based on the 80 cents.
- New weapon skins cost between 6.80 Euros (one-handed weapons) and 8 Euros (two-handed weapons)
- Armor costs between 8 and 12.80 Euros.
- New emotes are available for 3.20 Euros to 4.80 Euros.
- The company crests also cost between 3.20 Euros and 4.80 Euros.
- The colors all cost 3.20 Euros each.
For housing, there is only a complete package with several pirate-themed items. The package costs 23,000 tokens and thus about 18.40 Euros.
What is the most expensive item in the shop? The most expensive item is the housing package for 23,000 tokens. It is followed by two armor sets for 16,000 luck tokens, which we have included here as a preview image:
