In a new dev update, the developers of New World discussed upcoming updates. In July, the focus will be on Dungeons. A new instance will be released, the Dungeon Finder will be introduced, and the Orbs required to join Dungeons will be removed. However, players will still not be able to run an unlimited number of Dungeons.
What changes with the Orbs? Those wishing to join a Dungeon will currently need a special Orb. You can obtain this through crafting, the faction vendor, or by paying other players to open a Dungeon for you. One Orb will be required per group.
However, many found this mechanic restrictive, so it will be removed with the July patch. However, this comes with another limitation:
- You can complete a maximum of 15 regular Dungeons per day.
- You can complete a maximum of 20 mutated Dungeons per week.
- If you still have Orbs at the start of the update, they will be converted into replacement crates from the Dungeons.
How is this perceived? The removal of the Orbs is generally viewed positively. Many accept the limit of 15 regular Dungeons per day, as this is supposed to prevent a specific boss from being farmed repeatedly to obtain the desired item.
However, many find the limit of 20 mutated Dungeons per week too low. Nevertheless, Amazon has the opportunity to make adjustments based on feedback.
Major updates for Dungeons, Perks, and Recycling
What else is changing with the Dungeons? The July patch brings the new Dungeons Seepocken and Schwarzpulver as well as the long-awaited Dungeon Finder.
From the April update, we already know how this Finder will work:
- For this, you can walk to the entrance of a Dungeon and create a group search or join a group.
- In the group search, you can specify how many tanks, healers, or damage dealers you want in your group.
- Additionally, the attribute distribution and weapon mastery of players will be visible to check if they can fulfill their role.

What else does the patch bring aside from Dungeon adjustments? Another highlight of the July patch are the adjustments to the Perks. Currently, there are many effects on armor and weapons that are considered too weak. With the update, dozens of Perks will be revised or removed to ensure better overall gear.
Additionally, there will be several “Quality of Life” adjustments:
- There should generally be more Epics and fewer green and blue gear from loot drops.
- Specific items from Dungeon bosses can now be recycled and provide materials to craft the appropriate item.
- Recycling should generally be more rewarding and have the chance to provide other materials upon destruction.
- The gathering and upgrading disciplines in crafting should be levelled faster.
- Blacksmithing and woodworking should be levelled faster.
- Adjustments will be made to the new PvP reward path to ensure players cannot level it faster than originally planned. This path was introduced with the new PvP arenas at the end of May.
When can the new update be tested? The patch will only be brought to the test servers in July and is expected to be released at the end of July.
What do you think about the changes in the July update? Are you looking forward to the new Dungeon and the Dungeon Finder? What do you think about the changes to the Orbs? Feel free to write it in the comments.
