With the major summer update, New World not only receives a new dungeon, the dungeon finder, and musical instruments, but also the new event Summer Medleyfaire. Through this, you can earn new emotes, a new armor skin in the “Heavy Metal” look, and many other rewards. We at MeinMMO have played the event and will tell you all the important details in this guide.
What is included in the event?
- There is a new quest line through which you can earn gold, reputation, and tokens for the event. Additionally, you will receive your first musical instruments with songs that you can then present to everyone.
- There are events in the open world that also bring reputation and tokens.
- There are special fishing spots with new rewards.
- In each city, there is a stage that works similarly to the gifts during the winter event. You receive three gifts there each day, which contain gold, tokens for the event, and two diamond gypsum. In total, you will have six gypsum, which has not been the case in any previous event.
- There is a shop where you can get all sorts of new rewards if your reputation is high enough.

When does the event take place exactly? This has not yet been determined. The new event is expected to start shortly after the patch is released. The winter event lasted just under 3 weeks.
New hubs with quests and merchants, new world events, and fishing trophies
How do I get started with the event? The main content of the event takes place in new, special event settlements. There are a total of four in the areas of Monarch’s Bluff, Weaver’s Fen, Everfall, and Brightwood.
In these settlements, you will find the event quests, a stage to dance on, and the merchants. This is your starting point, and you will also be provided with instruments for the events in the open world.
What quests are available? You should start the event by completing the new quests. They can already be started by players at level 20.
You can expect a total of nine quests, each granting 250 reputation for the event. All quests follow one another and are self-explanatory. For the first task, you need to collect the instruments in the settlement that are marked with large markings.
A tip: During the quest line, you will need the following items, which you should prepare in your inventory:
- 20x Fresh Wood
- 6x Water
- 16x Flint
- 15x Reeds
The dance floor: The second special feature in the settlement is the dance floor. You can step onto it and then perform the emote /dance. This grants you 250 reputation for the event, and that per day and per settlement. You should make this dancing a part of your daily routine, especially at the beginning.
What are the events in the open world about? Even the second quest explains the Yarrow Beetle event. This involves swarms in the open world that you must calm with your guitar. You will receive this guitar in quest number 1.
Upon arriving at the event, you will need to play a song. To do this, you must press W, A, S, D or the two mouse buttons at the right moment, a bit like in Guitar Hero.
Over time, you can also skill your instruments and learn new songs. When you play these, other players can tip you as a reward for your skills.
What’s new for anglers? During the event, there are additional fish that you can catch. These give you reputation for the event, and there is a new trophy that you can earn. For this, you need Ether Vials, which you can unlock through the new event merchant. Each of these vials increases the chance of rare fish.
You will also be introduced to fishing through the new quests.
What else is there? For lore fans, a total of 14 pages of texts related to the event have been hidden. They are located in the four event areas.
New skins, housing items, emotes, and fishing equipment
What rewards does the event bring? In total, you can unlock five tiers of reputation in the event.
Tier 1 brings new buff food as well as the housing item “Summer Fish Wind Sack.”
At tier 2, you will receive three more housing items as well as a fishing rod and the special event item Light Ether Vial.
At tier 3, you will receive the new emote “Shake Dance”, schematics for crafting new armor skins, another fishing rod, and the event item Strong Ether Vial.
At tier 4, you will receive special skins for the musical instruments, new housing items, and the event item Mighty Ether Vial.
At the highest tier 5, you will receive the emotes “Guitar Shred” and “Sad Violin”, new housing items, schematics for new armor skins, the skin “Disturb Luxury Shawl”, and the event item Intense Ether Vial.
How do you reach max rank the fastest? To achieve the maximum rank, you need 10,000 reputation.
- First, complete all the quests – this will grant you 2,250 reputation.
- Dance in the four event settlements – this grants a total of 1,000 reputation per day.
- Open the three gifts daily in the normal settlements.
With this combination, you should reach max rank in 6 to 10 days.
How to obtain the tokens? You will receive tokens through the events with the swarms, through the daily gifts, and through the quests. In the event settlements, there are also merchants where you can exchange 25 tokens for a premium token – and vice versa.
