Since the new patch 1.0.1, some players are reporting that they can no longer start New World. They receive the error message “Untrusted System File”. We at MeinMMO will tell you what you need to do to get the MMO running again.
How to resolve the error: The “Untrusted System File” error relates to the file steamclient64.dll and is associated with Easy Anti Cheat.
To fix the error, there seem to be two methods:
- In method 1, you can have the file sent to you by a friend who has the game working, and then simply replace it in the folder where you installed Steam. By the way, we advise against downloading the files offered on reddit.
- In method 2, you repair the “anti cheat setup”. To do this, you navigate to the following file path: Steam -> Steam Apps -> Common -> Then select the desired game, here New World -> EasyAntiCheat -> Double-click on the setup and then click on repair New World in the window (via reddit).
Both methods have been described as helpful by more than 20 users and are said to have led to a solution. We at MeinMMO have only tested method 2 and can confirm that it works.
A reinstall of New World or repairing the data does not work and only wastes your time.
The developers of New World have also confirmed the error in the official forum.
What causes the error? This is currently still unclear. However, it only occurs for many players since the release of the new Patch 1.0.1. It mainly brought adjustments to the queue and bug fixes.
