Today, the new Patch 1.4.2 is released for New World. This includes the new event “The Revenge of the Rabbits”, where you can earn gypsum, reward chests, and a new item for more luck in the game. Additionally, an exploit with a dungeon boss has been fixed.
What kind of patch is this? The update 1.4.2 is a small patch that focuses primarily on the event and important bug fixes. The main ones are:
- An exploit with the bosses Neishatun and Isabella in the new dungeon Heart of the Stormwinds has been fixed. There, players could bypass the boss mechanics by lying down or entering a certain area where they could not be hit.
- New measures have been implemented to prevent players from entering a restricted arena.
- A bug has been fixed that caused elemental plants to not drop the correct resources when harvested.
When are the changes in the game? The maintenance for the patch began today, April 12th, at 8:00 AM. A first patch was rolled out at 12:00 PM. It is approximately 700 MB in size. However, the servers are still offline.
Killer Rabbits Raid New World for Two Weeks
What is behind the rabbit event? This special Easter event is expected to remain active for about two weeks. Since the launch of New World, players have repeatedly killed rabbits, but now these are said to want revenge on the players.
The rabbits have been tainted by Azoth and have become stronger. This somewhat resembles the turkey event in November. They are found in all areas and can usually be taken down with one hit. You can find all important spawn points here:

What rewards are there? You can look forward to three rewards that can be dropped by the rabbits:
- Corrupted Hare’s Feet, an enchanted consumable that grants players additional luck for 40 minutes when used. You can get 5 of these per day
- Corrupted Bunny Storage Chest, a rare item that increases housing inventory capacity by 1,050. You can receive a maximum of one per account, and it is not tradable.
- Diamond Gypsum to strengthen your competence. As usual, you can acquire up to 3 pieces daily, which you can combine into a gypsum mold.
