New World is getting a new update today, December 9. However, it is not the major December patch, but update 1.1.2. This update focuses on server merges and housing compensation. We will reveal the patch notes and how long the servers will be down.
What’s included in the update? Patch 1.1.2 is a small but important update. It brings the following new features:
- The technical foundations for server mergers are being established
- The limited-time world event “Truthan Terror” has been disabled, but it is expected to return in the future
- Players should now be able to repurchase and utilize the housing content lost during the rollback. Issues concerning housing taxes should also have been fixed
When will the patch be released? The update will be applied today at 8:00 AM. You can find the complete patch notes in the New World forum.
How long will the maintenance take? The developers have scheduled about 3 hours for maintenance. The servers should be online again by 11:00 AM German time.
When will the December patch arrive? There is still no exact release date for the major December update. However, the winter event is planned to start on Tuesday, December 14. A release by Tuesday at the latest is the current plan.
First Server Merge in Europe and South America
Which servers will be merged with the new update? Almost a week ago, the developers announced the integration of the European server Mardi into the server Brittia. They also explained why they chose these servers.
However, even more merges are planned:
- The EU servers Ishtakar, Metsola, Glitnir, Kalevala, Zu-Vendis and Phaeacia will all be integrated into the server Caer Sidi
- The South American servers Tuma, Svarga, Rukh and Patala will all be integrated into Irkalla
When will these merges take place? The merge of Mardi and Brittia is scheduled for today along with the patch. The other two merges will take place on Friday, December 10, at 8:00 AM German time.
The merges are important for many servers that have very few players left. This leads to issues, particularly in the battle for territories:
