New World received the new update 1.8 today, on December 6th. This brings back the Winter Convergence Festival and includes a new dungeon as well as adjustments to guilds and crafting. We at MeinMMO will tell you everything important and attach the German patch notes.
What are the highlights of the new update?
- The Winter Convergence event is returning. You will find festively decorated settlements, old tasks, and new rewards. Additionally, there is the Winter Warrior as a new world boss, which functions similarly to the turkey from last time.
- There is a new mutated version of the expeditions Starstone Barrows and Amrhein Excavation. It will be a mash-up in which enemies from both dungeons appear, bringing a whole new touch.
- A new heart rune is introduced.
- Discounts for certain recipes will be introduced in crafting. Additionally, some of them will no longer be blocked by crafting station ranks, like the merging of gems, which will now be possible in the settlement of any rank.
- Guilds will be revamped to reduce “mailbox companies.” More about this here: New World changes guilds because large groups with multiple companies controlled entire servers.
Overall, the last major update of the year is very extensive. In addition to the major highlights, it also brings numerous bug fixes and balance adjustments. Essentially, there is something for every type of player, only PvP fans miss out aside from the balance.
When will the update be released? Patch 1.8 will be deployed today – on December 6th – at 14:00 German time. This also marks the end of the Turketalon event.
The maintenance work is expected to take about 2 hours. The servers should be back online at 16:00. We will keep you updated here should the downtime take longer.
