New World has introduced the new Patch 1.5, which is set to be released in March. The major innovations of the update are the new dungeon and the new weapon Blunderbuss. However, some minor changes from the patch notes are currently receiving much greater attention in the forum and on reddit.
What kind of patch is this? The new update is titled “Heart of Madness” and brings three major innovations:
- The new dungeon “Heart of the Stormwinds”
- The new weapon Blunderbuss
- New enemies are expected to appear in the old areas
The patch will be brought to the test server today, March 3rd, at 7:00 PM. The release is expected to take place at the end of March.
In the meantime, the developers have published the patch notes for the update. Players have noticed some minor changes that many have eagerly awaited.
Fixed resets for daily tasks and improved inventory usage
What are the changes?
- Players now receive 50% of the purchase price back if they want to resell a house.
- Equipment in the inventory that you do not have equipped will no longer suffer damage upon death.
- Ammunition from bows and guns will no longer affect inventory weight.
- Daily cooldowns will now reset every day at 5:00 AM and no longer 23 hours after completion. Weekly cooldowns will always reset on Tuesdays at 5:00 AM.
- The inventory can now be used while you are moving.
These five seemingly minor changes are celebrated by the players. A thread about it is currently ranked number 1 on reddit. Because players have been wishing for these changes since the beta – possibly even since the alpha.
Especially the inventory was a point of criticism that was mentioned dozens of times on reddit at the time of release. For players from other MMORPGs, it was simply unusual to have to stop to check the inventory. An adjustment was promised back in December 2021.
On reddit, players are already joking: “If the developers keep going like this, they will soon have eliminated all problems and points of criticism from the alpha and beta and will be ready for the release of New World.”
What else is in the patch notes? The list of changes is extremely long. More than 100 adjustments will be made in March (via New World Forum).
Among the highlights is also a new boss – Rafflebones the Loot Collector. He will randomly appear on old maps and players will have 45 seconds to defeat him. There are named items and gypsum for players at level 60.
In addition, the main quests will be revised so that players only need to visit the dungeons optionally and there will be no specific prerequisites for individual steps anymore. The starting areas will also get an update.
What do you think of the update? Are you excited about both the big and small changes? At the end of March, there should finally be a detailed roadmap for the future:
