In New World, data miners have found insights into the new area “Brimstone Sands”. You can expect a wild desert and all its facets.
What’s happening right now in New World: On November 10th, the PTR servers of New World opened their gates. These are public test realms where players can try out new features.

However, it seems that the PTR servers have not only attracted testing players but also data miners who have sifted through the new content.
And apparently, they have come across clues about the new area in New World: The “Desert of Brimstone Sands”.
Desert with Pyramids, Oases, and everything that belongs to it
What kind of area is this? It is a desert area that offers pretty much everything one could imagine – at least, based on the reddit post by user “TheArkship”. There you can view six images that apparently provide a first glimpse. You can find the entire gallery on reddit.
What you see is once what one would first imagine in a desert: Scorching heat-baked sandy landscapes, occasionally disturbed by a few stubborn cacti. But it doesn’t remain so barren.
In the remaining images, there is also an oasis-like city that shines lavishly with palm trees in the sun, from which huge statues emerge. Players are hoping for new houses to inhabit.
Especially impressive are the magically appearing pyramids, at whose peak another, inverted one rises high. Brimstone Sands seems to bring a whole new visual element to New World.
Not the first look at the new area: In fact, there has already been a glimpse of Brimstone Sands – even in the form of moving images. We are embedding it here:
In the gameplay video, the more barren part of the desert is mainly visible. Among other things, there is said to be the new material “Sandstone” that you can mine with a pickaxe, as well as different types of sand for crafting.
In the New World subreddit, players are also hoping for new enemy types that fit the desert. Classics like giant scorpions or skeletons are mentioned here, among others.
However, it should be noted that it is still not officially known what contents Brimstone Sands will actually feature. We’ll have to wait until the area is officially reachable or presented.
Speaking of datamining: Contents about “Crafting” have also been unveiled. However, these were not well received.
