New information about the new MMO New World (PC) from Amazon has been released. A beta is planned for April 2020, with a release expected next year on Steam.
Update 13. 12 – 06:00 AM: New World has been officially announced at the Game Awards, and a new trailer has been shown. The release date will be in May 2020.

Where is the information coming from? It seems things are not going as planned. On New World a countdown was ticking down on Twitter, probably meant for a big announcement.
It was originally intended for the “Video Game Awards” tonight, as Twitter reveals.
However, even before the big reveal at night, the Steam page of New World went online tonight, revealing some important information and new screenshots.
Release date: New World is expected to be released in 2020 on Steam. A closed beta is planned for April 2020.
Price: The game will be “Buy2Play” and cost €39.99 for the Standard version – a Deluxe package will be available for €49.99. This also includes beta access.
What about German? According to Steam, the game will have the interface and subtitles in German. The audio output for New World, however, will only be available in English.
What is New World about? It was originally supposed to be about the colonization of North America, but New World does not take place in “Historical North America”, but in a world filled with myths and legends.
There was news in the meantime that Amazon had deleted all videos of New World on YouTube – one could already suspect that a major overhaul was on the way.
Now it is said that New World will take place on the island of “Aeternum” and the player will fight against the “brutal Legion of Corruption” and other players.
Players should be able to build fortresses and team up with other players. Apparently, it is also about taking possession of resources and territories. Traces of the colonization ideas can still be found.
From the original theme of “Colonial Era – North America”, there is no trace on the new Steam page anymore. It looks like they are opting for a sort of Renaissance-era horror scenario – with a fantasy twist.
On Steam, the game is labeled as Action, Adventure, MMO, and RPG.
