The Amazon Game Studios are looking for a new employee for the MMORPG New World, which is reportedly the only western AAA MMORPG currently in development.
Hardly any large western developer studio is dealing more with MMORPGs. There are various reasons for this. But Amazon Game Studios dares to do what even Electronic Arts and Blizzard shy away from. The new large developer studio is working on a new AAA MMORPG. New World takes place in a fictional past of the Earth, when Spanish conquerors arrive in the “New World,” but are confronted with supernatural beings and magic.
Developers are looking for reinforcement
Not much is known about the game so far. However, it is one of the major projects that the Amazon Game Studios are currently working on. Although we haven’t heard anything about the game for a while, it remains one of Amazon’s top titles.
The developer studio is now looking for a new employee. The job description for the “Player Relations Specialist” mentions a person who must be well familiar with the game mechanics, lore, and history of the MMORPG. He should possess good communication skills and strengthen the community management team.
A new sandbox MMORPG
Also interesting is the description of the game that is mentioned: New World is an open sandbox game world where players find themselves in a hostile land full of dangers. You decide how and with whom you play. You determine your own fate and how you deal with the supernatural dangers. Together with others, it is possible to create entire civilizations. Dynamic weather and seasons will also play a role.
It appears that there will be few or no quests. The focus is clearly on a sandbox. What the game looks like and how it plays is still unclear. Perhaps Amazon will show something about New World at this year’s E3…
