Server Down in New World – Europe is facing major issues with the new update
It is also possible that there will be a complete server rollback, as trading posts are also affected by the issues.
Do all think the idea of a rollback is good? No, in the forum there is a very small group of players who actually approve of distributing gold. The player BRITISHZEUS, for instance, claims that the community overall would benefit from the bug (via New World Forum):
- Players who received gold could buy levels and materials
- Players who sold materials now have a lot of gold
- Players who didn’t have anything for sale are not interested in having gold
This reasoning sounds absurd, but in fact, there are still relatively few sources to quickly obtain gold in New World. This also results in relatively little gold in the game, which drives down the prices of materials and led to an economic crisis.
However, the argument did not resonate well with most users in the forum. They see someone who finally received gold and doesn’t want to lose it.

Server Down in New World – Europe is facing major issues with the new update
In New World, a peculiar bug occurred in the latest update. Players were supposed to be compensated for the high taxes on their houses, but instead, they received huge sums of gold. A rollback for the characters has since been confirmed.
What exactly happened? Today, a new update was released that should refund players the taxes paid for houses. Due to bugs related to housing, players had been significantly restricted in that aspect. This was exploited for item duping, forcing developers to disable some content.
Therefore, the taxes on houses were reduced by 90%, retroactively effective from patch 1.1.
For houses, taxes typically range between 5% and 20% of the house cost, depending on the owner’s settings. In the best case, you pay 250 gold weekly, and in the worst case, 4,000.
However, players in Europe received excessively high compensations. Some amounts reached up to 300,000 gold. Some players took advantage of this to buy out the trading posts or level new characters quickly. This bug seems to have occurred only with us.
How did Amazon respond? After about 2 hours, the developers took all European servers offline and performed an emergency maintenance, which is still ongoing.
However, it has been confirmed in the forum that a rollback will occur and that players will not retain the gold and materials.
Rollback for all affected characters, but not everyone is pleased
What do the developers say exactly? In a post by Community Manager Tosch, it is stated that the affected characters will be reset. He says (via New World Forum):
Our investigations into the erroneous coin compensation are ongoing. Additionally, we are working on a reset for all affected characters.
Unfortunately, we cannot currently estimate how long it will take until all work is completed – but as soon as there are further updates, we will inform you.
Anyone who has played with a character affected by the gold bug should expect that their progress within the 2 hours will be lost.
It is also possible that there will be a complete server rollback, as trading posts are also affected by the issues.
