In a series of tweets, CD Projekt Red announced seven new games – 5 in the Witcher universe, plus a new Cyberpunk and something completely new. One of the Witcher games can apparently be played together.
What are these games? On Twitter, CD Projekt Red announced a whole array of games at once. Most of them revolve around the continuation of the Witcher series and were revealed with code names.
One of these games has been given the code name “Sirius” and could be interesting for multiplayer fans.
What is The Witcher Sirius? According to a tweet from CD Projekt Red, Sirius will take place in the Witcher universe and differentiate itself from “previous productions.” Therefore, it is to be expected that it is not an AAA RPG, but a different type of game.
It is known that it will offer multiplayer gameplay – in addition to a single-player experience. It is said to feature a campaign full of quests and story.
It is also clear that CD Projekt Red is not acting as the developer, but the studio “The Molasses Flood”: This belongs to CD Projekt Red and will take over development. The studio has previously developed two games:
- “The Flame in the Flood” – a raft survival adventure. This is what it looks like:
- And “Drake Hollow” – this is what it looks like:
Both games look completely different from the major Witcher games. How exactly “Sirius” will shape up remains to be seen. It is also unclear which characters we will encounter and at what time in the Witcher timeline it takes place. The “Witcher universe” offers many possibilities after all.
6 More games announced – With Witcher trilogy and Cyberpunk
In addition to the Witcher game with multiplayer, a whole host of games have been announced. We will briefly introduce them here.
Witcher Polaris: Witcher Polaris is the first game of the new Witcher saga – the “new saga” that was already mentioned in March 2022.
It had also already been announced that there would be multiple games. Now it is clear: This will be a complete new trilogy. According to CD Projekt Red on Twitter, after Polaris, two more Witcher games will form the new AAA RPG trilogy.
So, three titles are already lined up for the Witcher future.
Witcher Canis Majoris: Here CD Projekt Red speaks of a “full” Witcher game, which is supposed to take place apart from the “new” trilogy. It will be developed by an external studio, but led by developers who worked on earlier Witcher games.
Cyberpunk 2077 – Orion: This will be the next Cyberpunk title that is supposed to continue the franchise. This is fitting, as the game is currently gaining traction on Steam – also, because of a new Netflix series about Cyberpunk.
Hadar: Lastly, CD Projekt Red announced another project called “Hadar” that is supposed to represent a completely new IP. This is currently being built from scratch at CDPR and is still in the early creative development phase. No game is being developed yet – only conceptualized.
