In Pokémon GO the last major update brought several issues. The main problems affect gyms and raids, as there are many outages there.
What is the problem? For some time now, various trainers have been complaining about annoying bugs in the game. It seems to primarily affect iOS users. However, there are also reports from Android users complaining about bugs.
All of this seems to be related to the enlargement of the gym radius. Since this radius was increased, many of the bugs have occurred.
These bugs drive trainers crazy
What bugs are we talking about? Reports mainly concern bugs affecting raids and gyms. The following errors have been reported:
- Raids are partially unplayable, as players often cannot deal damage and the raid gets stuck
- Gym battles often require a restart of the app – the defeated Pokémon stays on the ground for a long time
- The transformation animation of Ditto is bugged and takes significantly longer
- The suggestions in the Rocket battles are not saved and need to be reselected
- The screen quickly dims if it is not touched for a few seconds
What can be done about it? There are no proper solutions. Many of the bugs cannot be quickly fixed and need a patch from Niantic. It seems that the developers are working on it, as some trainers are already reporting numerous new updates. However, a complete solution is still not available.
This is particularly bitter: The bug in raids is quite drastic, as many players lose raid passes because they cannot defeat the bosses.
So anyone who has noticed this bug recently should currently not invest further raid passes. An alternative for legendary Pokémon is the PvP League. There, players can encounter, among other rewards, Thundurus.
Keep in mind that there is a risk of contracting the coronavirus for yourself and others. The Federal Centre for Health Education recommends staying home as much as possible, keeping distance from others, and avoiding gatherings. Niantic has taken various measures so that you can play Pokémon GO from home.
