Path of Exile 2 has faced many problems since the release of version 0.2.0 and has received a lot of negative criticism. Builds have been nerfed, and the loot drops have been terrible. The latter should now be fixed with version 0.2.0g.
What is the problem with the loot drops? They are bad, so bad that fans have to farm for hours to get trading currencies. This frustrates the community and causes fans to prefer switching to competitors like Last Epoch – at least there, there is a commendable crafting system, and the invested time is rewarded with better loot.
To calm the situation, the developers of GGG have promised a patch that aims to fix the loot issues. The patch notes were released on May 1, and although the developers initially wanted to buff less, the upcoming changes look very promising.
More loot and everywhere!
What will change? Before the release of the patch notes, especially the wasps from the new league mechanics and bosses from the campaign were supposed to drop more loot. Fans expressed their concerns, as this would not address the underlying problem with loot in the endgame. Now, on May 1, the patch notes tell a different story. You can expect the following changes:
- Normal items should no longer drop from unique bosses (except occasionally at the beginning of the campaign).
- The chance to obtain rare gold drops has been reduced. This is intended to increase the drop rate of rare items such as equipment and currencies.
- Gold, magical and upgrade materials, flasks, talismans, and runes have a reduced drop chance.
- These three changes should ensure that you have a 20-30% increased chance to obtain rare currencies (Exalt, Alch, Regal, etc.).
- Rare items from tier 2 now have a 4 times increased drop chance. Items from tiers 3 – 5 have a 30% increased drop rate.
- Magical items from tier 2 have a 5 times increased drop chance.
- Except for some bosses at the beginning of act 1, all unique bosses should drop at least one rare item.
- Rare monsters affected by the wasps always drop a rare item.
- Chests should now finally drop at least one magical or rare item depending on their rarity.

When is the patch coming? The patch was released this morning, but a bug caused the developers to retract the patch to fix the issue. Meanwhile, the source of the error has been found, and the patch is expected to be released later today.
