In Call of Duty: Warzone there is a new update that saves the guns that previously suffered from a nerf. MeinMMO shows you what’s new.
This is what happened: At the end of February, shortly after the start of Season 2 in Warzone, players suddenly noticed that numerous strong weapons had reduced range and bullet speed.
The background was that the developers nerfed some attachments. The affected ones were 3 silencers that were considered the “Cold War” substitutes for the powerful Monolithic Silencer from Modern Warfare:
- Agency Silencer
- Wrapped Silencer
- GRU Suppressor
However, there is good news for players, as the changes have been reverted according to the developers on Twitter. This makes the affected weapons significantly stronger again.
Update on 03.03. saves the strong “Cold War” weapons
What’s in the update: The update is quite small, but fans of the affected weapons can finally breathe a sigh of relief. In total, there were 3 items in the update from March 3:
- Agency/GRU/Wrapped Silencer has been reverted to its previous state
- The fourth Operator mission for Baker with the goal of eliminating 15 enemies with a weapon equipped with a scope of 2x magnification or higher now counts correctly
- Small updates to various UI elements such as icons, store bundles, player level up, and more
What was the problem with the nerf? The 3 affected silencers increased bullet speed and range. However, after the nerf, the bullet speed with these attachments was reduced by about 45%. As a result, the strong weapons from Cold War could no longer keep up with their competitors from CoD MW.
Affected were among others the assault rifles Groza and FFAR 1. But also other weapons, such as the DMR 14, M16, or Stoner 63 suffered from the nerf.
Additionally, new weapons that you can use have been added, and a new Battle Pass gives you numerous rewards that you can collect.
Is everything back to normal? According to some players, all nerfs have indeed disappeared. You can therefore use the affected weapons normally again without worry.
The silencers are again increasing the bullet speed and range, so you are fully competitive with your weapons again.
What’s else going on in Warzone? In the Battle Royale of Call of Duty, there could soon be significant changes. A leak speaks of an atomic bomb that is supposed to be dropped over Verdansk.
Otherwise, the last days were indeed focused on the nerf of the silencers, but also on the general state of CoD Warzone. Even big streamers of Call of Duty were not pleased and said that they found the patch terrible:
