On the evening of June 3rd, the new playlist update for Call of Duty: Warzone went live and brought a few changes. MeinMMO shows and explains the patch notes.
What’s happening in Warzone? Two weeks ago, the Mid-Season Update of Season 3 went live, introducing two of the biggest action heroes of the 80s – Rambo and John McClane from Die Hard. With the playlist update on Thursday, June 3rd, the fun is now over. The heroes and a few features that were present during the event have disappeared. You can no longer unlock the rewards from the event.
However, the event left a lasting impact, and the latest update from Call of Duty: Warzone also works on two weapons. MeinMMO shows you the changes, the new playlist, and what remains from the event in the game.
Warzone: Update from 03.06. – Patch Notes
Which OP strategy was removed? Through the special side missions of the action hero event, you could easily and directly acquire the “Specialist Bonus”. With this item, you get all loadout perks, and your weapons from CoD MW become stronger.
A player from your team transformed into a kind of super soldier and could benefit from more than 20 gameplay advantages. The side missions from the event and thus the reward are no longer in the game.
Which weapon recoil was fixed? The recoil of the FARA 83 did not always function as it should. In last week’s playlist update, the Warzone developers adjusted the weapon’s recoil to make the FARA more of a long-range weapon.
However, the horizontal recoil does not always work correctly due to a bug. This bug has now been fixed, and the FARA should now play as intended.
What from the event is still in the game? The Rambo event introduced several new locations to the game, and the map changes appear to remain in the game for now. The Nakatomi Plaza in Downtown, the transformed hangar at the airport, and the survival camps are now part of Verdansk ’86. Whether this will also be the case after the start of Season 4 remains to be seen. Season 4 is expected to start on June 17.
Additionally, you can still purchase the skins of the two heroes Rambo and John McClane in the shop. Since the bundles are marked as “event bundles,” it is likely that they will soon disappear from the shop.
What also remains in the game for now is the lobby background. Currently, the lobby experience in Warzone consists of explosions and upbeat background music in the style of the 80s, and that will likely continue for a few more weeks.
What other weapon adjustments were made? The patch notes address another bug with the weapons and highlight a change to the submachine gun PPSh-41:
- Bug removed that caused CoD MW sights to sometimes appear even though “Cold War” sights were used
- The field of view when aiming with the PPSh-41 has been adjusted, and aiming with iron sights should now be easier

What does the playlist look like? In the end, the update brought a new playlist to the game. The event mode “Takeover” is disappearing, and more modes are available for Rebirth Island:
Warzone Playlist starting June 3, 2021
- Battle Royale – Solo, Duo, Trio, 4-player
- Rebirth Island – 4-player Resurgence
- Rebirth Island – Mini Royale Trios
- Blood Money Trios
The best season in Warzone is nearing its end
Season 3 changed a lot in Warzone: a new map, a better weapon meta, and the mid-season event brought excitement to the battle royale. The outgoing Season 3 may well be the best season Warzone has seen so far. Many of the criticisms from the last months were addressed in Season 3, but one significant problem remains persistent – cheaters.
Apart from the rampant cheaters – what do you think of Season 3? Do you also believe it’s the best season so far, or do you have another season in mind? Feel free to discuss it with us in the comments on MeinMMO.
