CoD Warzone: Update June 30 – Patch Notes
When is the update coming? The new features are already online. The update was released on the evening of June 30.
How large is the update? It is only a mini-update – you don’t need to download much, on consoles it even runs automatically upon signing in.
What’s in the update? The focus of the update is on adjustments to the currently best weapons in Warzone. Almost all weapons that have been at the top of the meta food chain since the start of Season 4 have received a nerf. But there were also a few buffs:
- NZ-41 – Nerf
- Reduced damage on chest hits and nerf of the Orbweaver barrel and Sakura ammunition.
- UGM-8 – Nerf
- The recoil-free burst setup has been nerfed, as well as the strong Sakura ammunition. Other ammunition attachments have also been weakened, as well as the Bernard barrel.
- H4 Blixen – Nerf
- First and second damage range have been reduced.
- Marco 5 – Nerf
- Hip fire while crouching/prone has been nerfed, Perfetto barrel provides less movement.
- Vanguard Sniper – Buff
- Three-line rifle, Kar 98k, and Type 99 have higher bullet speed.
- “Extended” attachment – Nerf
- Increases bullet speed by only 8% instead of 10%.
- MX Silencer – Nerf
- Increases bullet speed by only 12% instead of 15%.
- M1941 Handstopper – Nerf
- Recoil control is now only at 3.5% instead of 4%.
Additionally, there are now lootable perks on Fortune’s Keep. Senior Creative Director of Warzone, Ted Timmins, once called this mechanic a ‘game changer’ for Warzone and thus the most important gameplay change of Season 3 / 2022.
You can now keep an eye out for perks on the new map to enhance your loadouts.
On top of that, there have been several bug fixes. This includes the broken reload on the H4 Blixen submachine gun. If you reloaded while aiming down sights, it took too long. However, there were no new updates regarding the issues with broken walls on Fortune’s Keep.

The latest changes could significantly impact the weapon meta. The best weapons in Warzone have been characterized by extremely low recoil and easy playability since the start of Season 4.
How the adjustments will affect gameplay can’t be said for sure shortly after the update. But we will keep an eye on developments and update our list of the best weapons in Warzone as soon as possible.
