In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and the free sister game Warzone, an exciting Season 2 is coming to an end. The developers are bidding farewell to the outgoing season in style with a few days of Double XP.
What’s happening in CoD? A turbulent Season 2 is coming to an end in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Thanks to the successful release of the CoD battle royale Warzone, there has been quite a lot going on this season.
The developers have now announced what will happen in the last week of the current Season 2 – Including: A few days of Double XP.
What does the last week of Season 2 bring us? A playlist update for Modern Warfare is planned. The Activision Blog revealed what we can expect.
A new mode called “Cyber Attack Pro” is coming. Unlike the regular “Cyber Attack,” where you only have one life and can be revived by allies, respawn is activated here. The gameplay of this otherwise slower, tactical mode is likely to be much faster as a result.
This weekend, starting Friday, April 3, around 7 PM, a Double XP event will kick off until April 6. For one weekend, we will earn double the XP for the 3 progression pillars of CoD while we take down other players. This applies to:
- Account Level – Double XP for your player level
- Weapon Level – Double experience when unlocking attachments
- Battle Pass Tiers – Double progress on your Battle Pass
If you haven’t leveled up the best weapons in Warzone yet or still need tiers for your Battle Pass, you’ll have great opportunities at the end of the week.
Newcomers to the free-to-play version of Warzone can boost their account level and unlock gear for the important loadout drops – They are the reason why MW players have an advantage over the F2P players.
Season 3 likely next week – CoD: MW2 campaign on the horizon
Is there anything to know about Season 3 yet? The creators at Infinity Ward are holding back information here, just like they did at the start of the first two seasons. Through leaks and observant fans, there are already some speculations.
- As maps, refreshed versions of the old MW maps Backlot and Village may come
- Alex and Ronin may come as new operators
- Sniper rifle SKS and pistol Renetti
Whether these contents will actually come is not entirely secure, as is the start date of Season 3. The first season was extended by a week, and due to the home office situation resulting from the current crisis, there could still be delays.
What else are the developers working on? Apparently, the new “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered” will launch with the update tonight. Here you can experience the campaign of the MW2 released in 2009 once again or for the first time, with the latest technology.
On the Trello board for Modern Warfare, the developers share what bugs they are currently working on. These include:
- PKM sound bugs
- Execution failures near walls
- Rare Gulag glitch where weapons lie on the ground
- And a lot of other bugs and issues
