In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare a new update is available. It was released this evening, on Tuesday, November 19, and once again addresses a controversial weapon.
What’s included in the update: The patch notes for the new update are rather small. The following changes are coming:
- 3rd nerf for the 725
- Buff for the AUG
- Small nerf for the attachments of the Model 680
- Diverse bug fixes in Ground War, missions, and more.
Thus, the update offers less than initially expected, but is also smaller.
The update is already online (since around 7:30 PM German time) and is available for download on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One. It is an internal update. A large download is not necessary.
Update from November 19 – Patch Notes in German
Buff for the AUG: The submachine gun AUG was already strong before and is a popular alternative to the strongest submachine gun MP5. The update has given it buffs in two areas:
- Increased damage at close range
- Increased damage at medium range
However, its damage multiplier to the chest has also been reduced. Overall, it should have become stronger.
Nerf for the 725: The shotgun 725 has already received its third nerf, after becoming even stronger after 2 nerfs. Various adjustments are being made to it:
- Small reduction of the standard damage range
- Significant reduction of the damage range achievable through attachments
- Small increase in hip-fire spread
- Reduction of effective hip-fire damage
With the adjustments, the 725 should no longer be convertible into an effective sniper rifle. It also loses some of its edge at close range, which could save many opponents from frustration.
Bug fixes: The bug fixes particularly relate to missions and officer challenges that have been causing problems for a while. These have been “repaired” without further description.
Additionally, bugs that caused the constant display of loadouts in Ground War and disrupted the UI have been fixed. Exploits have been removed and bugs in other modes have been corrected. The complete patch notes in English can be found on reddit.
