On the evening of June 18, BioWare released a new patch for Anthem. Patch 1.2.1 brings few fixes, but further improvements for matchmaking. Additionally, the update is meant to prepare for upcoming content.
What was the problem with matchmaking? At the end of May, BioWare made some changes to matchmaking in Anthem. Since then, players had to wait longer, but they should start more often in a full group.
In the weeks prior, reports from players accumulated that they could hardly find teammates for many activities. This led freelancers to worry about player numbers, as they were mostly thrown into empty groups due to matchmaking.

This is what update 1.2.1 brings: Last night, on June 18, after a short maintenance of about two hours, a new update for Anthem went live. Although the update brought only a few fixes, it should prepare the game for upcoming content.
These are the patch notes for update 1.2.1:
Cosmetics – A number of bugs were fixed that prevented selected cosmetics from being correctly presented in Prospero’s shop and/or in the forge.
UI – A problem was fixed where the mouse pointer would disappear in certain cases when entering the forge (when using keyboard and mouse control). Additionally, there are further, smaller fixes.

Combat – A bug was fixed that sometimes caused characters and enemies to appear frozen after the frost effect had worn off.
Matchmaking – There were some additional improvements to matchmaking, allowing players to load into a squad over a longer period of time. Additionally, a bug from a previous update was fixed that forced some players to stay in matchmaking longer than planned. The new maximum duration for matchmaking should no longer take more than 90 seconds.
What the update does not bring? Many players were already hoping for the removal of the luck stat. However, this change is expected to come with the Cataclysm event.
The Cataclysm is currently still being tested by players on the PTS, the public test server on PC.
