In Call of Duty: Warzone, you must always be on the lookout for impending dangers. Any help is always welcome. A soldier has now discovered that you can also use the wildlife to your advantage.
What is it about? To perform well in Call of Duty: Warzone, you should always try to play with full concentration and make use of every advantage:
- Get the best weapons for your loadouts
- Expect an enemy around every corner
- Listen to all sounds and pay attention to every movement
The trick presented here helps you with the last point, as you can detect enemies without direct line of sight and know exactly from which direction you can expect potential enemy contact. How does that work? Watch for startled birds.
Bird swarm as a natural UAV in the Warzone
Are there pictures of this? On Reddit, the CoD player “Noahthegoofy” showed what he learned in the Warzone the day before:
As the sixth gas circle (out of a maximum of 8) began to close, “Noah” was practicing a bit of tactical waiting. He already has a well-covered position and can safely move towards the next circle from there. The only thing that could surprise him now would be another forest camper from behind.
„Noah” is aware of this and therefore checks the area behind him much more intensively than the remaining zone to the circle. Suddenly, he noticed a flock of birds taking off startled behind a nearby hill. It all looked very suspicious, and he decided to keep a close eye on the area.
And lo and behold – Just a few seconds later, an enemy appears over the hilltop. Exactly where the birds were startled. Another forest camper was cautiously moving with the gas towards the new circle and walked directly into his crosshairs.
Since “Noah” was hardly moving at that moment, he was hard to see for the approaching enemy. So well prepared, he takes out the enemy easily with his M4. He can only hope that the remaining 4 enemies in his solo match meet a similar unfortunate fate.
Not all players are convinced; some think it’s a coincidence
What do the players think? The reactions in the thread are divided into 3 directions:
- Soldiers thanking for the tip
- Players who are still skeptical about whether it really works
- Moaners wondering about the “Noob Tube”, the underbarrel grenade launcher that “Noah” has on his weapon
While some CoD players are glad about the tip, there are some skeptical voices who doubt its usefulness. “Senileriver” for example states: “I thought this in week 1 [after release]. But no, the birds fly randomly, I promise.”
Another player seems to have been keeping an eye on the birds for a while and has drawn the following conclusions:
- __Emer__: “The bird swarms can be found throughout the match, but only in areas with many trees. Individual birds show nothing. However, bird swarms seem to be startled by players, but I often do not see any enemies. […] It is also possible to see bird swarms that have been startled by oneself.
Not everyone is convinced, but the timing has fit too well for a coincidence. By the way, “Noah” stated that he brought the “Noob Tube” to try it out in the Warzone.
When can I use this to my advantage? Pay attention to the wildlife in Call of Duty: Warzone. If you see birds taking off and can roughly determine where they started, thoroughly scout the area and expect nearby enemies.
This works especially well in areas with many trees. This way, you can let the environment work for you and take action against other forest campers. Use the surroundings to your advantage, just like at the secret spots that you can only reach with tricks. Every little detail can give you the decisive advantage.
What are your experiences with wildlife? Does it provide useful hints about enemies? Or does everything happen there just by chance?
