A new gameplay trailer from Bethesda gives a glimpse of the story and the enemy types in the upcoming The Elder Scrolls Online addon Elsweyr: There are cat zombies to be seen. Our author Dave takes a look at the ESO trailer and is optimistic about what is coming our way.
This is shown in the trailer: The trailer starts where the recently released prologue quest ends: Abnur Tharn and Khamira must helplessly watch as the dragons are unleashed.
After that, we see some in-game scenes from the new addon Elsweyr.
A Khajiit voice complains in the background about all the problems that have recently arisen in their beautiful land. These include:
- Abnur Tharn’s sister has seized the throne and is very mean
- Khajiit zombies are overrunning the farms
- Dragons are setting everything and everyone on fire
So we are dealing not only with dragons but also with Khajiit zombies. That’s quite a surprise!
However, they don’t seem to be any faster than normal zombies despite their cat genes.
But who would have thought, there is still hope!
Everywhere heroes are rising who can even wield a sword or cast fireballs. Something tells me we are supposed to be those heroes.
This is my first impression: It’s really interesting to finally see a bit more of what awaits us in the new addon Elsweyr.
The dragons are definitely well animated in the game and are presented impressively.
It looks like the new chapter of Elsweyr will indeed be quite strongly influenced by the extremely popular Skyrim.
There is now no doubt that we can expect some spectacular battles against dragons.

The other storylines seem a bit more exciting this time than with the last addon Summerset.
Although the throne thief plot is not particularly original, I am curious to see how it continues and find it very commendable that well-known characters like Abnur Tharn are being included.
