Fans of the Persona series are eagerly awaiting the sixth installment of the series. However, a new trailer from the Summer Game Fest for Metaphor: ReFantazio proves that the new installment can comfortably wait a bit longer.
What was shown in the new trailer? The new trailer once again showcased how stunning the game looks. In the cutscenes, it flashes and shines at every corner. This may seem overwhelming to some, but for anime fans, the scenes look like a celebration.
Most notably, the characters look super interesting and do not resemble the generic heroes that we have already forgotten after a few hours of gameplay.
Furthermore, the trailer introduced some of the 40 archetypes that will exist in Metaphor: ReFantazio. You can watch the video here:
40 new archetypes provide variety
What makes the game so special? During the Summer Game Fest 2024, Atlus explained that Metaphor: ReFantazio will have over 40 archetypes. Some of them were visible in the new trailer. This refers to a job system, where different group members can take on various jobs.
With the archetypes, the gameplay becomes much more dynamic, as players can customize the members according to their preferences. Whether knight, ninja, or healer – the choice lies with the players.
The fun lies especially in trying out different combinations of archetypes. With a selection of 40 jobs, everyone should find something to their taste.
The archetypes from Metaphor: ReFantazio resemble collecting the personas from the eponymous series. Only, instead of using our favorite personas, we will be using our favorite archetypes.
The similarity between Persona and Metaphor: ReFantazio is not only visual but also exists in gameplay. The Persona series has now produced several spin-offs. One of them is Persona 5 Tactica: Persona 5 Tactica: Athlete Kasumi is indeed included and brings along another fan-favorite.
