PuffPals Island Skies is a new Kickstarter project that has already raised over 1 million euros. It reminds of a mix between the cult games Animal Crossing, Harvest Moon, or Stardew Valley. MeinMMO introduces you to this charming project.
What kind of game is this? In PuffPals Island Skies, you find yourself on a construct of floating islands, each hosting different biomes, creatures, and buildings. Everything is presented in a sweet cartoon graphic style, reminiscent of the Nintendo game Animal Crossing.
On the islands, you can build your own little farm, grow and harvest various plants. However, you are not alone on the floating construct; many different little creatures also call it home.
Additionally, you can explore the colorful islands, collect various items, decorate your house, and even play together in multiplayer.

Quests, Goals, and Cute Button-eyed Animals
What can you do in the game? As is typical in cute simulation games, you simply live on the islands and gather money to further expand your house and farm, similar to Stardew Valley or Harvest Moon.
The aspect of Animal Crossing is especially evident in the creatures, the PuffPals. You can talk to them, fulfill quests for them, and play mini-games with them. All of this helps deepen your friendship with each respective PuffPal until you eventually become their best friends.
The animals do not just come in ordinary animal shapes but can also look like fruits or vegetables. All PuffPals have unique personalities, so you won’t always be having the same conversations with them.
Furthermore, you can not only make PuffPals your friends but also engage in these activities:

- Cooking
- Arcade Games
- Collecting artifacts, mushrooms, special stones, and more
Many Customization Options – For You and Your House
How far does customization go? You can completely design both your character and your house. How much you can decorate your own farm is currently still unknown.
What does it look like for your character? You can choose from various options, adjust your hairstyle, eye color, and skin tone. Furthermore, there is a wide variety of clothing that allows you to present yourself individually.
How can you design your house? The design of the house takes place similarly to Animal Crossing or The Sims. You have the option to freely choose the facade as well as the interior.
You can place the furniture and decorations in the rooms of your house at will.
How is the Kickstarter project going?
Great! So far, almost 1.1 million euros have been raised and the campaign will run until May 5. If you’re interested, you still have time to support the project as well (via Kickstarter.com).
If you invest 29 euros, you even get an alpha access to the game. The testing phase is set to start in 2023. However, the alpha access is limited to PC users only.
Moreover, exciting goals such as the Nintendo Switch release or multiplayer have already been unlocked. So you can also explore the world of PuffPals Island Skies with other people.
The next goals include the feature that you can manage your own shop and that the community can come up with a unique biome for a flying island. However, these features will only be available after the final release in 2025.
If everything goes according to the plan of the developers from Fluffnest, PuffPals Island Skies will be released in 2025 as a purely digital version for the Nintendo Switch, for the PC on Steam, as well as on Android and iOS.
