Terminator: Survivors will be released in October 2024. In a first trailer, developer Nacon roughly introduces the world in which you play – namely after Terminator 2. Much is still not known, but the scenes so far remind one of the survival hit Rust.
What kind of game is this?
- The open-world survival game takes place after Terminator 2: Judgment Day. You are survivors who must make their way in the devastated world after the machine apocalypse.
- You collect resources to ensure your survival, build bases, and fight against the machines whose mission is to exterminate humanity.
- To do this, you loot abandoned gas stations, supermarkets, and farms. The world in the first trailer looks a bit like the destroyed island of Rust, one of the best survival games ever.
When will Terminator: Survivors be released? The launch for the survival game is planned for October 24, 2024, in early access on Steam. A version for PS5 and Xbox is also expected, but later.
How long the early access will last is still unknown. So far, information about Terminator: Survivors is limited. However, there are already a few details about the gameplay.

You have to survive somehow, but the Terminator doesn’t want that
Primarily, Terminator: Survivors focuses on building a base for the surviving humans using the found materials. You can play alone or in co-op. We do not yet know how many players can play together.
The main threat in the survival game is the machines, where the developers refer to the Terminator itself several times in the singular. So, it is quite possible that you only encounter one Terminator wandering the world, but there will be several other “Skynet machines.”
The game is allegedly also going to play with the fact that the apocalypse is still quite fresh. Consequently, it is initially about the survival of the fittest, which means: other people are also competition.
Furthermore, the developers promise that you will encounter familiar figures from the franchise. Which ones exactly are not known yet. Probably, it would be John Connor, who is currently organizing the resistance.
