While Finland is considered one of the most modern countries in the world in reality, especially standing out in terms of digitalization, in Among the Trolls you enter a world full of myths and magic from a Finnish forest.
In Among the Trolls, you take on the role of either Alex or Anna. After the death of your parents, you are drawn to Finland, where you want to visit your grandparents.
On your way, according to Forbidden Games CEO Veli Kokkonen, a giant creature pulls you to the bottom of a lake and drags you into an unknown world. In this world, Finnish folklore is of crucial importance.
To ensure your survival in this surreal environment, genre-typical elements such as farming, crafting, and building a base or home are part of the game.

What makes Among the Trolls special? The survival game Among the Trolls features an equally exciting and innovative concept, where the forest turns against you if you harvest too many resources.
You anger the forest, for example, by cutting down trees. To calm the forest afterwards, you must offer sacrifices – an aspect that turns typical survival elements on their head.
Furthermore, Among the Trolls is especially distinguished by its style. The nature is inspired by Finnish forests, where various myths and shamanistic magic await you.
The whole experience will be accompanied by authentic sounds of Nordic nature as well as a mix of old and modern instrumentation.
What is known about the release of Among the Trolls? Among the Trolls will be released on Steam in Early Access. Currently, there is no information on whether a console version, for example for Xbox Series S/X or PlayStation 5, is planned for the future.
While there is still no exact release date, 505 Games announced at the Spring 2022 Showcase on May 17 that the “Early Access” release is expected to occur in 2022.
