Infinite Fleet has released a new trailer. It showcases more or less impressively what will await you in the space MMO. It feels a bit like EVE Online with influences from other games and pop classics – like Transformers.
What is Infinite Fleet? The developers of Pixelmatic describe their game as an “epic sci-fi MMO RTS”, a multiplayer strategy game. Inspirations named by the developers include EVE Online and Homeworld.
Infinite Fleet was introduced in 2018 with a trailer. Key elements apparently include space battles with large fleets and a player-driven economy. The new video introduces “larger gameplay mechanics”, although it is not entirely clear if this refers to actual gameplay.
This is the trailer: The trailer shows a battle in space, partly from the command bridge of a large battleship and partly from the cockpit of smaller fighter units. The depicted space battle reminds of the massive wars in EVE Online that players regularly conduct. EVE Online is known for players repeatedly spending thousands of euros on materials.
Infinite Fleet relies on an anime style and some interesting elements – like small and large mechs in space. After a colleague of one of the characters stops responding, she transforms her fighter into a type of spaceship-bot that shoots its enemies with an assault rifle instead of a blaster.
In the end, it is also shown how even one of the large cruisers transforms into such a mech that could rival the Power Rangers. We have embedded the entire trailer here for you:
Farm cryptocurrency while gaming
This makes Infinite Fleet special: Apart from the crazy battles with huge space mechs and transformer ships, the MMO offers a unique economy. Players can earn “INF Tokens” here.
This is an in-game currency comparable to gold or credits known from other games. Ships are also available for this in-game currency. The major difference is: it can be stored entirely freely in a crypto wallet and can be spent from there again.
Every wallet that also supports Bitcoin is supposed to also work for INF Tokens. Similar to Bitcoin, you farm a real cryptocurrency in Infinite Fleet. Should external providers decide to officially accept the currency, it could even be traded for other cryptocurrencies, according to the official FAQ (via infinitefleet.com). The developers aim to give players full control over the economy.
When will Infinite Fleet be released? So far, there is no concrete release date for the game. It is still in development and being tested, both by invited players and the developers themselves.
Infinite Fleet is set to be released as a PC MMO, with developers already planning crossplay and considering versions for Mac, Linux, console, and mobile.
