In the reveal trailer for FIFA 23, there is a lot to discover. From new stadiums, new animations, and fresh skill moves, everything is included. But particularly one skill move stands out because it looks incredibly strong.
This is the new skill move: The new trick doesn’t have an official name yet and is performed in the trailer by Atletico Madrid’s forward talent Joao Felix. The Portuguese plays the ball to himself with a backheel and then changes direction with a classic ball roll, leaving the defender without a chance. All of this at brutal speed.

Why the new skill move could be so dangerous: The ball roll has always been a very effective weapon in recent FIFA years to leave defenders standing. Combining this classic with a backheel trick could mean horror for many defenders. Especially since at the start of the trick, one expects a “heel-to-heel” that goes in a completely different direction.
So it is quite possible that the new skill move quickly finds many new fans and in the worst case even gets spammed. In this case, EA would have to adjust the effectiveness.
How to perform the trick? Currently, apart from the first video material, nothing is known about the new skill move. Therefore, it is still unclear which button combination has to be executed and whether the trick can only be mastered by players with 5 stars in skill moves.
