The early access version of the multiplayer shooter Scavengers has launched. We will tell you how to participate in the battles and obtain a Steam key.
What is Scavengers? The free-to-play shooter Scavengers combines survival with PvP elements. You are a scavenger searching for data on a frozen Earth that is vital for the survival of humanity. To do this, you are repeatedly shot from an orbital bunker down to Earth for missions.
In the match with 60 players, you are in teams of 3 – internal tests even allowed for 9,000 players. You need to find data points and reach a dropship with the collected data. You will face not only wild beasts but also the other teams. Additionally, the weather will challenge you with severe storms. It is important to seek shelter during such a storm, as otherwise you receive a nasty debuff and slowly lose max HP, which cannot be healed.
It is also important to equip yourself well with weapons beforehand, and you can improve your character over time. The trailer explains what you can expect during the early access phase:
Get a Steam key for Scavengers
How to participate: Currently, a simple access to the early access phase of Scavengers via Steam is not possible. However, you can obtain a key. And that is via Twitch Drops. Here’s how it works:
- You need to watch one of the live streams of Scavengers on Twitch that has Twitch Drops activated. You can see which streams those are on the game’s Twitch page (via Twitch).
- Authorize your Twitch account (via Twitch Auth Page).
- You will now be redirected to the Scavengers website where you need to create an Improbable account.
- Confirm this account. You will receive an email for that.
- Now you need to watch one of the Twitch streams for the shooter for at least 30 minutes. For this, you will receive a Twitch drop.
- You will then receive a Steam key for Scavengers via email. This can take about 10 minutes.
- You redeem this key through Steam and can then try out the shooter.
This PC is required to play: You should of course ensure that you have a PC that meets the minimum requirements of Scavengers. These are as follows:
- Operating system: Windows 10
- Processor: Core i5-6500 or similar
- Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 / AMD Radeon R9 380
- RAM: 8 GB
- DirectX: Version 11
- Storage space: 15 GB
